This my take on the Bezzid penny auction site. I bought 2 thousand dollars in bids from the because I thought I could get a good deal on a laptop from there site. This is what they pound into you in advertising. I studied many auctions in real time all on my little iPhone. Then I tried my hand at it. There is an option where you can see recently sold. You will see the lowest price the thing has ever sold for first. Maybe there will be 2 or three examples that get progressively higher in price. And you will see the last 10 bidders before it was won. This is for a 30 day period I am told. You will also see average price for this product.

The truth is that the cheap stuff like candle holders and 15 dollar gift cards and the like sell dirt cheap. It's like the supper stores advertising. They sell lots of small cheap products at real cheap prices. To get more people in the store so they will be in awe at the big ticket stuff. No sales there though. Same with Bezid.

As for the big ticket stuff on Bezzid, I just wanted a lap top, that's all. What I discovered was that once in a while all the potential bidders are asleep at the wheel when the auction starts. Then once in a blue moon one bidder will get the thing at less than 99% retail. Like the add says. Pretty rare it's like playing a slot machine. More often than not however you will wind up in one bidding war after another for many many hours. And if you step away for ever 3 minutes you risk loosing all your bids. There is almost always some guy willing to use an unimaginable amount of time and bids to beat you.

Why is that you might ask? There are basically 3 reasons. 3 basics. There is a lot of luck involved in winning. So you might be bidding against a chronic gambler and once commit thousands of bids, do you really think there going to quit at some pre-determined point? Say when there bid value verses product value + product price is out of hand. No, a chronic gambler won't quit. He'll drain you and laugh his a*s off regardless.

Basic reason #2

There is a butting of heads so to speak. Imagine your bidding on an iPad and you though 1200 bids at it and it it only retails at 400 bucks and you watch someone through 3000 bids at it to win it. Then you see this guy in the next auction. What will you do. My point. He has an advantage now right. Cost him big money to get it but he'll have on less bidder to deal with, you !

Basic reason #3 there are a lot of people on this earth with lots of money and lots of time to stare at a computer to beat you down. They probably don't worry about money much. They just get off on kicking you a*s in a bidding.

You can get real cheap little things like DVDs, pocket knives, towels, tools. But you must likely will get eaten alive bidding on a Mac Book or 47 inch 3d tv. Unless you want and can be 1 or all of the 3 basics above.

For me Beezids crime is this. They have lots of small things that do sell very cheap. They use that sucker you into loosing your shirt on the big stuff. Much more so than Wallmart or Canadian Tire ever would.
