Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I work for a REPUTABLE company, here in the valley, and we have been received numerous complaints about another local company called Al-Tech. In fact, we received TWO new customers yesterday, both whom had been taken by Al-Tech. One had forked out over $2,000 in supposed repairs, and the other got scared when the technician came down off her roof, showed her a "picture" on his phone of what was supposed to be her unit (it wasn't) and told her she needed $1,500 in repairs.

They charge a lot less for an annual maintenance than most REPUTABLE companies, but they certainly make up for their loss in "repairs". I work in the customer service department and a few months ago, we had a warranty customer that had been solicited by Al-Tech for maintenance. She is an elderly woman out in Scottsdale, husband deceased and she's all on her own now. The technician gave her a list that stated we had sold her a used unit, the motors were burned up, her electrical connections were fried, along with several other things. Now, we manufacture our units here, locally, and we most certainly do not install USED equipment. We often have old timers looking for refurbished motors and units; we have our waste disposed up by our recovery company. Therefore, there are no used units in our facility and Al-Tech LIED to this poor woman. She was hysterical when she called us, and could barely remember her own address. We sent someone out, at no charge, and found NOTHING WRONG with her unit. That has been the case with EVERY Al-Tech "service call" we have follwed up on this summer.

A word to the wise, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! When you have an HVAC company cold-calling you for maintenance, nine times out of ten they are either fly-by-night or simply out to rip you off! Purchasing regular maintenance on your heatinga nd air conditioning system IS recommended, but please, make sure you contact a reputable company! You may check on Arizona HVAC contractors by visiting the Arizona Registrar of Contractor's website at: http://www.rc.state.az.us/ You can also call the Arizona Heat Pump Council for a referral to a reputable contractor. They are a state run agency that maintains the highest standards for the contractors they refer business to. Their phone number is (602) 248-7767. Please, don't think you're going to save money by paying for CHEAP maintenance! In the end, you're only going to be taken for a ride!!!!!!

***Note: we have been informed that Al-Tech has a mile long list of complaints filed against them with the registrar as of 06/16/04. IF YOU HAVE BEEN RIPPED OFF, FILE A COMPLAINT!!!!! The registrar maintains a fund to help customers that have been ripped off, recoupe atleast some of what they paid.

SHADY BUSINESS, STAY AWAY! Company has been under investigation multiple times (The owner, Lance Dobins, will use multiple aliases). I worked for this company for 3 weeks and left. They will sell you a new unit and install a used one or will charge you for a name brand unit and install a knock off (Check your paperwork/receipt!) Will do unnecessary repairs. Majority of employees are NOT certified (Ask to see certification). Check the BBB's rating and complaint history on this company to validate what I'm stating. This company has a horrible reputation with distributors and other companies, ask any other AC business about Al Tech.

Unsubstantiated Claims maid by a competitor! NOT TRUE

If you read carefully you will see that the individual who filed the complaint worked for an unnamed and as she put it reputable company claiming to represent previous unnamed customers of Al-Tech. You will also see that the claim was made over 5 years ago and was NOT by a previous customer! As a company we receive phone calls regularly from people who have recently had services provided by other companies in town. Most of the time the customer believes they may have spent too much money and are looking for price quotes. If we got involved in that kind of business we might be spreading unsubstantiated claims on the Internet about our competition suggesting you file complaints against them for nothing more then buyer's remorse. In conclusion, reading through this complaint it becomes obvious that it is nothing more then a cheap attempt by a NOT SO REPUTABLE company to tarnish a competitors name. Had these customers truly existed they surely would have had the ability to file similar complaints! Don't believe every thing you read Thank you, Al-Tech Energy Management, Inc. 602-258-7037
