David Call thinks he is an art agent but in fact he is a giant scammer. Do not do business with this man. He will not take responsibility for his actions and will cause damage to artwork as well as misleading artists. He does not pay bills to venues he rents out for art events and basically does just as he pleases because he believes himself to be very important.
He plans huge events, gathers many people together and then when it comes time to pay bills for various services he manages to either conveniently vanish or tries to weasel out of his committments. He is quick to lay blame on owners of the venues if he causes damage to an artist and will not offer compensation for artwork or furniture that was damaged in his care. He will not take ownership for his guests damaging the venue he rents out and he will not pay for these damages.
David Call will hire caterers, djs and waiters for art events and when it comes time to pay these people for their services he will conveniently not have the money, argue the amount due or vanish and not pay.
Aside from mistreating artists and venues, David Call also has come dangerously close to taking ownership of artwork in his control and without permission from the artist. Please beware! If you are a venue about to do business with this man then do some research and ask around. David has a track record and many big names with big influences in Dallas know what he has done and who he has upset. You will take a great risk getting into business with this man.
If you decide to do business with this man and do not believe this account or the reports from others in the art scene in Dallas then I suggest you carefully read his contracts that he draws up himself as you may notice that first of all he cannot spell or use grammar and likes to copy and paste a great deal so that the contract he gives to potential clients is clearly written by someone in a hurry with no skills at all.

I have known David Call professionally and personally for over 10 years. I have had him design part of my condo, sought his input with my remodel and value his input so much.
Then about 2 years ago he started Alchemy Arts. He had worked with many artists over the years of Design and he knew they needed a liaison to help them prosper. So, he started Alchemy Arts to do just that. He has worked to include non-profits and they have loved it as much as the artists.
I have seen his interaction with everyone in his shows and where he provides his art to designers and the public. He is very professional and courteous, putting the main effort into the relationship with the host to the artist and the good of the outcome. I am privileged to know him and have his designs and art in my home.

I'm not sure who this person is referring to because the David Call I have worked with numerous times over the past two years has never let me done.
I hired him to decorate my new office. He was on time and on budget and it looked fantastic.
I hired him to plan an open house event, he handled all the details as well as catering and helped me clean it up. He arranged a trade for me and the caterer to keep my costs low and I personally saw him pay the suppliers involved.
David Call has also created numerous art events that I have attended. Several with repeat venues. I'm sure if was as this person from Houston said that those venues would not have him back, nor would the artist he works with still be with him.

I've been working with David Call for the past year and a half as an artist. He has been nothing but upfront with every detail involving business opportunities and transactions. Since being represented by David Call, my work has been displayed all over the Dallas Metroplex area resulting in many sales, all to which I was paid in a timely manner.
David has been able to bring my work into the spotlight of many fantastic outlets including magazines, galleries and showrooms from which before meeting him was not possible. David is an extremely professional, good-hearted and hard working individual and the fact that this report has been published to discredit him as a person individually and professionally is rediculous.
Absoltuly none of these accustaions in this report are true - seems to me it's someone who has a personal vendetta against him.

I have worked with David on multiple project over the past several years and find this report to be the complaint of an angry person with an axe to grind.
David has always gone over and above his contracted and uncontracted commitments. As a gallery owner, he has assisted in placement and design on a moment’s notice and been available for openings or whatever was needed. I have seen him provide sage advice to blossoming artist and seen the results of that advice.
I find it irresponsible that reports like this are allowed to be posted on a site like this. Ripoff should take better care to verify information before tarnishing a good person’s good name.
