This company Alibris.com seemed too good to be true.  I am a MBA student and I needed to buy books for my class. I googled on the internet the name of my book and up came a few websites that sold it, used.  I wanted to buy it used because it would save alot of money that way. Out of the three websites that sell the book, Alibris was the cheapest.  In fact, it was so cheap that I couldn't resist buying from them.  Everything seemed professional about their company, they even had payment through paypal, which was cool.  They sent me emails letting me know my books had shipped. All very professional.

The problem started today, when I received my books. I opened the box up and, THEY WERE THE WRONG BOOKS!!!!  Just some cheap books published back in 2003 that have nothing to do with my class whatsoever. I tried contacting them but couldn't get a hold of anyone. I just want to warn people to go with the bigger more reliable retailers.  My lesson learned is that if it seems too good to be true, it is!!!!

Rush to judgement....

It is sad to see someone rush to judgment and overeact when they have a problem. Especially with an online company, where most, tend to have all electronic customer service.

I have used Alibris many times and never had an issue. That is not to say that people are perfect. Mistakes will happen and human error was probably involved. It could be more than that, but to go online and slander a company's good name, seems to be an over reaction to a simple mistake. Admittedly, a refund was provided. However, that does not remove the inaccurate statements made.

I will continue to use Alibris, as they have an excellent selection. They are a very reputable company.

I wonder if the same would be written about Amazon if for some reason they could not be immediately reached...hmmm.

Wow - after many emails, they actually refunded me the money, and apologized for the mistake.

Happier, but will not do business again.
