Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

My husband and I contracted with this company to renovate a room in our basement.

Contract Commencement Date - July 6, 2011

Contract Completion Date - July 31, 2011 - they said about 3-4 weeks to complete.

We have paid 23,340.00 to All About Construction Corp.. As of Wednesday, October 5, 2011 we had finally had enough and called Richard Pombert - owner/manager - to let him know we wanted our balance owing for products and services not delivered and incomplete. They have left us in a mess and have done damage to our property among other in-competencies -- new fireplace and breaker panel issues.

In our phone conversation Wednesday, he basically said he would cooperate but that was just another lie. He had and has no intention on refunding what he owes us.  Called Richard again Thursday, morning October 6, 2011 to meet with him and go over the paper work. As I said above he has no intention to refund. I told him what he was doing was theft and fraudulant and he should be arrested. He responded by telling me I can't talk to him like that and we would have to see him in court.

Other problems with this outfit.

- recovering alchoholic drinking on site. this same person threw a chimney off our roof (ripping up our immaculate lawn), leaving a co-worker stuck in the chimney, and frying our brand new breaker panel leaving us without power and not telling us until we went to turn on the lights; and the hits just keep on com'in. There is so much more I could go on and on and on....

They owe us $17,000.00 + for work not done, materials not delivered and damages to property including electrical issues

Not only do the do these types of things they take advantage of employee; They hired a chap that came from eastern Canada to work here. He's homeless and they don't pay him. Another employee, a construction worker was told to go install electrical at a restaurant. The construction worker has no training as an electrician and is totally unqualified. They haven,t paid him either. The told him to do the restaurant job and just take that money for compensation. We have become friends with this man; he is honest, trustworthy and the only one from this company we would let into our home. We had some very interesting discussions about this company.

There is a whole lot of suspicious activities this company is up to. It seems the have another company called Hide and Seek Inspections -- pretty ironic and frightening. Please help us end this company's reign of rip-offs and fraudulent activities before they do some serious damage and hurt someone or worse.
Absolutely Fed Up.

Below is what I got from HANDYCANADIAN.COM. This is some of what they are doing to people out there.

Im sorry as well Rick and Paul. It seems you have to lie to justify ripping me off. I can respond to all of them but am choosing not to. I've wasted enough time and energy on this. I have the paperwork and the pictures to prove what really went on and know what the truth really is. I would like to know the name of this so called Master Electrician you hired without consulting me. It seems he didn't pull a permit to do this work and also needs to be inspected and passed, the job is not completed as well. If this is how you're justifying where you spent my money, I would like a reciept please. I've only been asking for this info since days off Sept 8th. Glad I did take days off as well, because all month long you kept telling me another story. As for the roof, well another good reason I came home, because you wanted to what was that, just wash the old, banged up rusty tin and leave it like that? Good thing Pat and I came up with a plan the day before you even got there and I ran to town to get the materials for this. My son and I even helped him get it done, while the rest seduced the canine. Thank you for that Pat!

Cube Kitchens were quite gratefull I managed to contact them as well to buy the cupboards again, apparantly your cheque bounced. I suggest you find somewhere else to order as they no longer want to do business with you either, . I also have no problem buying the materials you have purchased for my renos, but wait, you've used them on other jobs and don't have any! Is this the same reason my tiles are of a different color than the ones I wanted? If I expected the job to be free, why would I give you a $10 000 down payment as well? It was nice for your Dad Albert and your employee Ivan to write a nice review for you on here. It seems the only bad reviews are those you actually did work for. I've included a pic of the two day project. Love how the plugin for the hotwater is in the closet and not the water rm, Love the opening in the floor still as well..

thank you for the photo , if you notice the burnt rafters from a fire ,there was no time to consult anyone you told us to take care of it and whatever was required take care of it , so when we found the burnt attic and burnt junction boxes we felt that that the electrician was needed to be called and major problems and mini fires in junction boxes were found , we decided to have the problem fixed - permits take time / weeks we could not leave the electriacal like that, when we started the investigation we found mouse and bat poop and urine all in the walls and attic , as well as no vapour barrier, on the exterior walls , as you see in the picture and reinstalled and pollyed, as well as a framed in closet and utility room with new door, there is 8,000 plus worth of materials on site, as well as siding was done , there was also insulation Styrofoam fastened to outside walls before the siding at no charge a 1000.00 value , so you money being taken and wasted is false - look at the 60 cases of laminate , 70 sheets of drywall , the new window , the new back door , the 6 rolls of underlay , the 3 boxes of mud , 2 rolls of tape , and again your friends picked out that tile verses the black slate i picked , i really don't know what else to say . the money you paid us is in your living room and extras done on your home, and went to pay the electrician - rick

This man represented himself as one of the few companies accredited with the BBB. I found out after a month of bs that this was a lie. Work done was done incorrectly, was not done in the time frame he stated, and garbage left everywhere. Cheques were bounced for purchases, men quiting because of no pay, etc. I eventually fired him after a month of getting the run around, being lied to, no return calls, etc. I wouldn't reccommend this company to my worst enemy. The person who referred him to me, is now making it up by doing the work himself, this person use to be a partner(no longer) and when he was; the work was awesome and done correctly Im told. Even viewed pictures of some projects they did. The owner, Rick; was quite nice and presented himself quite well when I met with him and signed the contract, and gave him a down payment. I thought right on professionals that seem to know what they are doing, didn't know my renovations would turn into a total nightmare. As for their review on qualified personell........took two days to build a closet, small wall, and corner tv centre. That is just framed not completed as well! You decide! There's more but Im sure I've mentioned enough to get a clear and better picture.

we are sorry you feel this way , there was a lot of work completed on this site and was done well, I'm sorry she was frustrated with the find and she didn't want to pay for the electrician bill, se said and told us to look after things when we found a massive electrical fire / fires - we called a master electrition who came out and did amazing work , and the client refused to pay the contractor, the funds that we in trust for cupboards was used to pay the electrition , diane the client was in a confernce call with rick and the electrician, and she still refused to pay the bill, then a few phone calls later she said she was willing to pay 5000.00 only on a bill that was 6500.00 we did work on her home and there are thousands of dollars of material on site that have not been paid for yes we have the deposit - and the deposit for cupboard that we used to pay the sub trade's - this client as we were all working on her home had the nerve to light up a joint (pot) and smoke it as the crew was having there lunch. every time this lady writes a nasty comment some where the story is different - btw we told here we quit and word figure the bill out and charge her cost for our materials on her site only. if we owed her we would refund , and if she owes us we would like to collect . we don't need this headache. she thinks that she's friends with one of the previous owners and was a friend of the owners she would get work done for free - we made exxtenitons on a trailer roof to create soft and facia like a real home . - rick & paul

Contacted by group via this site for a leaking shower & met up with very punctual & courteous Clint. He suggested a work plan along with time frame of 3 days and I got a quote via email. I called them Aug 29 to arrange for work to take place and spoke to someone who introduced himself as one of the owners. He reiterated that work would take 2 days and confirmed the shower would be out of commission for that time and up and running for our tenant by day 3. We proceeded to arrange a hotel stay for our tenant for 2 nights. Called the All About Construction office Sept 1 to let them know that our tenant would be there to let workers in and give them a key (rather than leave the keys in the mailbox as the receptionist had instructed) and asked the receptionist, would they be there at 9am because if not, I didn't want the tenant to have to wait and I wanted then to drop off keys at their office. I was brushed off and told that if that's what was arranged, that's when they would show up.

Sept 6 arrived and I checked in with the tenant at 9:45am to discover there was no one there. Called and spoke with same receptionist who informed me that things happen and Randy was trying to get smaller jobs done first before they came to our site. Reminded her of our tenant waiting for the workers so she went to check on the situation, coming back to say that they would definitely be there before noon. I asked that he give me a call if they'd be later - our tenant had to work that day and couldn't wait.

I received a call at work from the tenant - the worker had come at 2pm, looked around a few minutes and didn't do anything and said he would return the following day so we wouldn't need to put her up at the hotel for the night. My husband spoke with Mitch, and apparently, their employee estimated the project would only take one day and that's why it wasn't started that day. We were able to scramble and cancel the booking that night without charge, fortunately, but this was irritating to say the least. My husband asked that he be called upon the completion of the job the next day so that we could get the keys back.

The job was started and completed on Sept 7 and we didn't hear from them. My husband checked the work later that evening and noticed two areas which hadn't been caulked in the shower - around the base and the first 1' of the single vertical seam - and he spoke with someone the morning of Sept 8 named Mitch requesting these two specific areas be addressed. Mitch was told that they still had the suite key and that they could go in on Sept 8 which Mitch himself agreed to do. He was told we were leaving for the weekend that afternoon, but to let themselves in. At 1:30pm, I took a call from Mitch calling to meet ask us to meet him at the unit to let him in. When I said I couldn't because we were on the road to our trip and reminded him that he had the key, he seemed a bit surprised. I instructed him to give the keys to the tenant if she happened to show up while they were there.

We checked the work upon our return on Sept 12 to discover the vertical seam had not been addressed. We received a call from the office Sept 13 requesting payment. My husband expressed our concerns but by this time, had decided it was easier for US to do the caulking than try to deal with this group. He was told that they could send someone over to pick up the cheque and my husband requested that the keys be dropped off to save us the hassle of picking them up from head office. The fellow showed up today without keys and had no idea about them. Turns out that Mitch had given the keys to our tenant, but hadn't communicated this to anyone else.

I was extremely frustrated by this company and its lack of communication within the organization and the sense that they just didn't listen to any of our information which we conveyed to them to make everything smoother for everyone. I would not recommend this company to anyone at this time.

I'm sorry that you feel this way , everything we did there was a process, the base of the shower needed some concrete work and some pipe repair in order for the base to be level , the repair and reinstall is a process, as well as we were not informed of the hotel matter till after the first day , the shower was repaired in a timely matter according to the contract, our quality assurance manager was contacted that some chalking had not adhered to the material properly , that evening after hours we returned to site to remove the caulking and redo. this is a problem of reusing the componants the were removed and reinstalled, when we were complete the key was left with the main floor tenant. we believe that the job was completed in a timely manner according to our contract and agreement. yes i do believe there was a 1" piece of chaulking missing or shrunk we did offer to meet client at site touch-up the piece of caulking the owner said he would look after it , and payment was picked up from client . i do know there was some confusion about project for that we do apologize. but all in all the project got done, and payment was collected . thank-you for the opportunity to work with you .
