In April of 2011, I tried to enroll as a website host in a company called Full Merchant Funding out of Arizona.  The initial fee was about $500, supposedly refundable. They sent my initial information by mail as promised, and I practiced accessing my website and trying to learn its features.  It didn't really do anything and there was little to no traffic.  I had received a number to call to set up training.  "Training" turned out to be an invitation to spend $10-20K on internet marketing partnerships.  I declined. My website sat idle, as I tried in vain to get a refund.

It was a dumb move for me from the start, so I chalked it up to retirement jitters and business ignorance and wrote off the loss.

Today, February 2nd, I got a call from a company, All American Web Consulting, LLC, which the caller said was in Scottsdale, AZ, but the website places it in Tempe.  Here's the story: The caller, "Victor" said...1) Full Merchant Funding went out of business the day after I purchased my website. (Funny, I supposedly talked with them several times after that, gradually realizing they weren't "real".)
2) My website had generated a lot of "hits" (thousands per  month), despite the fact it was never fully functional and I never purchased a marketing plan for it.
3) Google is required by law to pay seventy cents per hit for its advertisers that benefited over the past year. They will pay $.35 to All American Web Consulting and $.35 to me per hit for the year my website has been up.
4) However, for them to do that, the website has to be completed and converted into simply an advertising link site, not selling any product or service.
5) To get the website functional and return to me the accumulated earned money, I must-with the help of All American Web Consulting, LLC-apply for one of the federal stimulus grants for internet small business.
6) All Victor needs to make this happen is my VISA card number, CVV, billing address, and full name, as well as my name and physical address. After he submits the grant, his superior, Douglas Patten, Head of Business Development for their Google account, will handle my site issues, and get checks coming to me.

I asked for a copy of the grant application to be emailed to me as an attachment, and was told it was on an online application that he had to be filled out there. I asked for verification of their existence, category of business, licensure, or any other info that would apply.  He gave me their website. I asked for time to gather information and call them back.  He said he would call me back. I could have fifteen minutes. My state AG's office was closed for consumer complaints or inquiries, so I could not find any reports there.

There are NO online fraud reports on this company and they may be legitimate, but I could not understand why-if they wanted to send ME money, they needed my credit card account information.  They even wanted security questions and answers, and they wanted to know if I had a "good credit margin" between indebtedness and credit...at least $3000 available credit.  It seemed to me they wanted enough information to clone my identity and access all my credit options.

If they are legitimate, I do not want to malign them. But I don't know how to "ask google" how these things work. And I don't give my personal info out over the phone to anyone. So far I'm out $500 to Full Merchant Funding, who do not exist and never did anything but take money.  And I guess I won't get it back through All American Web Consulting, either.

SCAMMERS!

Full Speed Funding is definitely a HUGE SCAM and they use different names and work with other companies that scam with them.! I am an elderly, disabled man who was looking to make some money from home and I got scammed by Full Speed Funding. I maxed out my credit cards because of the promises they told me and like a dummy I believed them. I have never been so humiliated in my life. I didn't tell my wife that I did this and didn't know what to do. I found a company, CR Consumer Resources, that helps people who have been victims of telemarketing scams and they worked with me very discreetly. I am proud and amazed to say, that I got back every penny that I put on my credit cards. They worked with me, understood what I was going through and kept in touch with me during the whole process.
They fought hard for me and I couldn't be more grateful. I wish there were more companies like them. If you've been victimized by these crooks, call them. CR Consumer Resources - www.crconsumerresources.com

I saw your post on the ripoff report site . Yes indeed, I too have been ripped off bigtime by webteckstratigies in Arizona for big bucks. I received a call  from Stephen Roberts of Allamreicanwebconsulting.com. He allso said that a grant would be issued for me to upgrade the bogus web sites that were created by the "other  company", I'm supposed to get a call today asking for all the personal information: haha I don't think so. Good luck with that.

We don't want your business.

Why would we even want to do business with someone who claims you ripped them off before you even do business with them?  Like I said, if you felt you were being pushed you could have/should have ASKED FOR A MANAGER.  For someone who "does their research" you do a very poor job at it, by your own account you have been "ripped off" multiple times and then instead of researching us, you just post a negative comment.

Tamara,  we are not nor are we affiliated with those companies you mentioned.  Sorry for any confusion.

I don't know who these people are are but I got scammed the same way from a similar type of company from the same general area. Govt. grant, Google adsense pay per click etc.  Tempe,  AZ or Scottsdale,  AZ.  In my case they used the name of full speed funding,  LLC, then changed to e-business financial,  LLC.  These crooks need to be stopped!

Personally I can hardly wait to give critical personal information to a company that is rude and insulting online to someone asking legitimate questions.  Where do I sign up?

You wrote:My business advisors have warned that companies or individuals who ask for detailed personal financial information over the phone, who insist that decisions must me made immediately, or who cannot provide third party verification that they are real and trustworthy probably are NOT.

I really cannot see how this advice can be disputed at all.  All American Consulting might indeed be a reputable company trying to help people and therefore do not deserve a rip off report.  But if so, I think a better explanation for needing this personal information is warranted.  A response of 'we were just trying to help, but you are obviously too stupid to be helped' is ridiculous.  And frankly it is exactly the response we would expect to see from a less than reputable company.

For instance I work with a company that automatically reviews my shipping with UPS, and gets me refunds on any package that does not get delivered according to UPS guarantees on timeliness.  In this case I get the refund money up front and I send them a check for a percentage of the money recovered every month.  I didn't have to sign some complicated contract, give my credit card info, ssn number, mothers maiden name, bank account info or sign bank release forms.  To give that out over the phone in the space of a 15 minute phone call is just not business as usual.  If this company really wants 50% of money actually owed to YOU, then they need to get the legwork done.

In my opinion you dodged a bullet here.

Good luck

Getting called out on RR does feel disrespectful huh?

Those all would have been fair things to request.  If there was an analyst who was being pushy then you should have asked to speak to a manager, if there was a need for third party verification, trade references you should have asked to speak to a manager.  Instead what you did was you filed a complaint about a company that had zero complaints prior to yours.  I stand by my comment, I find your research methods unprofessional rather than calling and asking for these simple references you still would rather trash a company you have had no business with.  If an analyst was too pushy for your flavor, thats fine.  But there is a big difference between someone being "too pushy" and posting derogatory posts about them intentionally looking to hurt their reputation when as you stated, there are none to be found otherwise.  I would also like to see the credentials of this "business adviser" you speak of?   Does he have his series 6 or 7 license?  What training/certifications does he have to be giving such advice.  What oversight committee is he/she responsible for answering to if he in fact gives/ or gave information to you in an incorrect manner.

Can you explain?

While I appreciate that "Employee #1" choose to respond to my complaint, the broad assumptions about me, and degrading business "advice" is not at all helpful.  Why would a reputable company resort to rash insults without making an attempt to explain how this works?  I did, in fact, look into the first company, finding no warnings or complaints through the Better Business Bureau in the State where they are located.  And I did my homework on work-at-home options.  It looked like a real opportunity, and I was assured before I signed on that the included training would strengthen my online skills for conducting business.  As soon as my resources arrived, I studied them, and tried to work the program.

As I explained in the first message, the website was never completed, and I was repeatedly told by the company contacts that they did not want home-based people actually doing the business, communicating with customers who visited the website. They really just wanted me to buy a marketing package and have them run it.  This was a "bait-and-switch" from the pitch I bought into, and I couldn't get out.

Since then, I have learned more about online businesses (I operate two successfully), and about distinguishing opportunities from scams.  My posting posed a question-which I had hoped would be answered by someone with actual experience working with (not  necessarily for!) All American Consulting.  My business advisors have warned that companies or individuals who ask for detailed personal financial information over the phone, who insist that decisions must me made immediately, or who cannot provide third party verification that they are real and trustworthy probably are NOT.

The person with whom I spoke asked for the numbers of my major credit cards, the CVV numbers, my SSN, my mother's maiden name, a few security questions and their answers, and the combined available balances of my credit cards and credit accounts.  I was told it would cost nothing to have a grant application filed on my behalf, yet I was told that I would have to have "a good credit rating" and "at least $3000 of immediately available credit."  Only my own banker has that information.  This was an invitation to give away my identity.

By the way, I also researched the US Govt information on laws passed in 2009 (the supposed year of the "bailout" legislation that this supposed grant opportunity was part of).  I have read the various stimulus bills, as part of my prior employment. So I reread them, along with any current updates or grant/loan offerings.  There are NO grants offered to support private business, including online businesses.  And, incidentally, Google does not acknowledge any affiliation with All American Consulting.  If they DO contract with you, why not simply send legitimate documentation instead of attempting to discredit a reasonably cautious and diligent business person?

All American Web Consulting helps

#9UPDATE Employee

Fri, February 10, 2012

There are a number of ways All American Web Consulting helps clients/partners.  All American Web Consulting specializes in the monetizing of traffic or visitors to sites whether its through lead generation, conversions, advertising, or raising awareness. There are multiple companies mentioned in your letter which do multiple things but let me try to make sense of this.

You bought a work from home program with "Full Merchant Funding"   and purchased a large amount of traffic this traffic has value whether its through generating visitors, showcasing product information or maybe with a few tweaks conversions of sales could pick up.  Depending on a number of factors if there  is a possibility they can help why not take  look?

As it stands what you described in your letter was you payed 500 dollars to "start" a site or program, turned down an aggressive marketing plan originally.  Rather than research/ask for trade references you search for complaints about a company, find none, then file one when you have not done any business with them?  Your track record shows you have no aptitude or experience in any of the above fields mentioned and quite frankly should not be anywhere near a business or credit card for that matter.  I have a bleeding heart for people who are taken advantage of by smooth talking salesman, however, your inexcusable lack of knowledge or effort to research/improve leave me but no other viable possibility to assume you failed at this, much like anything else  you would attempt featuring this lack of skills or knowledge.   I suggest you do not do business with anyone anymore, because you do not seem like you are at all willing to function like professional.

Rather than ask for a clear cut definition of services provided your answer is to file dubious complaints against a reputable company.  Once again, there ARE NO complaints to be found.  If investing money on marketing isn't feasible for you I understand, but answer this for me?  List five books on online marketing you checked out/read at your local library?  Victor attempted to help you, but some people I guess are beyond help.  And I repeat here are NO COMPLAINTS on any of these sites about All American Web Consulting.
