Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
If you are looking for a moving company, you would be wise to avoid All My Sons Moving & Storage. You don't need to take my word for it; you can simply google them and view the exorbitant number of complaints that people have posted. Allow me to share a few details with you regarding my nightmare move. We paid far more than we had anticipated (I was however aware of the costs in advance) and happened to receive a few surprises.

After the movers had finished, my girlfriend and I noticed several items were missing as we began unpacking. A large, empty 5-gallon water jug filled with change and a new window-mounted air conditioner were missing. We didn't care much about the air-conditioning unit, as we had central a/c in the new residence, but the fact is that it was ours. The missing money was of quite a concern. A theft had occured.

Quite a shock came with this realization, however, it was nothing compared to the shock I received when I attempted to deal with this company in the following days. Not one phone call was ever returned. Bear in mind that I placed four phone calls in the first-week following. They made not a single attempt.

Upon realizing that they were not a professional outfit, I sought the assistance of the Better Business Bureau and the state of Connecticut. The rebuttal that I received from the company (it took assistance to get them to even acknowledge me) was anything but satisfactory. Arrogance about sums it up. I have yet to hear back from them, but am not anticipating anything short of unprofessional garbage (this is the only thing they should be trusted moving). The fact is that we were robbed. I did not want to involve the police, but they are forcing my hand in the matter. They are the most indecent organization I have ever dealt with, and you won't find any bargain in their pricing either. I am waiting to hear back from them, as I type this, and am already prepared for more insanity.

If you want to get ripped-off or have damaged goods (just check out other posts and you'll see), then this is the company for you. If you want to play it safe, go to the Better Business Bureau site and find a reputable company. I should have.

As to Mr. Fatigati's claim that these Connecticut Sites are "independently" owned and operated while it may be true that he is the owner of the Connecticut Company which has many phone numbers and a few different address and of All My Sons of Greenville Inc, that I know of so far.   All My Sons Moving and Storage is a nationwide company set up similarly to a partnership/franchise wherein there is a main hub and website which collects all information and from which consumers can contact all of the All My Sons Nationwide which would indicate they are all indeed interconnected and follow a similiar and basic partnership/franchise type business module meaning they have business practices, procedures and ethics that are outlined by the main/corporate hub of the company and meant to be followed by each company across the nation. This is my understanding of how partnerships/franchise type business work.  There is a main contact email if you are looking for a job at any of the companies nationwide. I believe the address at the bottom to be the corporate office.

What a funny guy that Mr. Fatigati that isn't even from Stratford but from Fountain Inn South Carolina can't even be honest about where he is located the business is in Stratford but not it's owner just for ha ha's also check out reviews/complaints against All My Sons in Greenville Inc. of which he is also the owner.  It was my experience he thought he could threaten his way out of resolving my issue hoping I would just go away but I'm still here. Still more research to come.  All this grief for a phone that could have been returned when a company found out who it's rightful owner was.  While one may not be able to control the actions of all it's employees it most certainly is responsible for how it chooses to resolve the problems caused by it's employees and how it's employees act while representing their company.   I'm not impressed with this companies problem solving skills by a long shot.

You feel that you demonstrate probity? You refer to me as being arrogant and obnoxious. I assure you that I am quite the opposite. Nothing but the truth has been put forth by me. I have no reason to provide anything but the facts. Unfortunately, I have no concrete evidence, and I'm confident that this pleases you. Released from responsibility you are. This is a simple matter of he said/she said. You tend to think that your driver's statement is the word of God. Our word is crap? I guess so. You've been paid and could care less about what truly happened. After all, you continue to simply say Prove it. I don't feel that a company should conduct business in such a fashion. But, then again, who am I? I'm JUST the customer. Regarding the BBB, I could care less. I've recently learned (the hard way) that the BBB will always take the business' side. They are more concerned with collecting dues than dealing with customer complaints. After all, membership to the BBB is not earned, it's bought. The fact remains: Where did our items go? They were placed on the truck and never off-loaded. We NEVER inspected the back of the truck as your driver claims. Even if we had, there were blankets piled-high in the back, and we would not have seen if any of our property happened to be underneath. Where's our stuff? I assure you that we don't have it. In regards to my insulting manner: I exhibited nothing but patience from the beginning. After being avoided by your manager (Al) and not receiving any return-phone calls from your company, I did become angered. Two weeks passed before I contacted the BBB and posted on the internet. I feel that I was more than fair. I guess I was just expecting too much from your company. In closing, I must state, once again, that I do not lack integrity. I have better things to do than spend time re-stating the facts for you. I am a professional engineer, and my fianc is a professional with Yale University. Do we sound like the type of folks who go around making claims? I assure you that we don't. The types of people that we deal with on a day-to-day basis are trusting; Maybe this is why we were so trusting of your driver and crew. I go to church every Sunday and have no problem looking in the mirror. Please do not question my integrity. I have done nothing but tell the truth. All you have to say is Prove it. Well, if this is how you choose to run your business, and if you will always trust your employee's word over the customers, then good luck to you with your future endeavors. You're going to need it.

Personally, Patrick, I cant wait to meet you in person. Why don't to make an appointment to come to my office some time. I don't think you even understand what the word integrity means. You continue to bagger me & my company, you continue to slander my company, but you cannot show me one piece of concrete evidence that what you are accusing one of my employees, actually happened. You continue to state that you know fopr a fact that it went on the truck. If so, then why did you not know right away that it didn't come off the truck? This is what I don't understand. I have provided the BBB & you a sign statement from the driver in question, as he states again that your girlfriend walked up into the truck and checked it. She founfd nothing in the truck. It's not that complicated to figure out. It was a rental truck, therefore there wasn't an attic, just a 24' box. No hiding places or areas that couldnt have been seen. Secondly, at all the All My Sons complaints on this site, only 2 are mine. You and the other one for a damaged a/c wall unit, which by the way, if you read it, it has been settled. So, that just leaves you. But we could never settle your matter because you are to arrigant and obnoxious to file a claim and see how that would have turned out before you started insulting, and slandering my company. The BBB has closed the case because we have done everything we could do and we still have our satifactory rating because we deserve it. Oh, and by the way, if you have read most of the complaints, you will see that the majority complaint is from damaged furniture. I have not heard one peep out of you in regards to that. I guess we did do the jod you hired us to do. GOOD JOB, WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EXACTLY THE RESPONSE I WAS EXPECTING.

Personally, Frank, I didn't expect much more from you. You state that I "have no integrity?" I assure you that I am not the one who is lacking in the ethics department. The BBB website, which I have become quite familiar with, had 15 complaints listed on the day that I posted it (I do concur that there are now 14), so please do not question the soundness of my statements when, in fact, it was obviously an issue with the BBB site. Regardless, I'm thrilled that you're happy with "...only 14 in 36 months." Keep up the great work. The fact remains that you have more complaints on record than any other moving company in the state of Connecticut. Once again, keep up the great work. When I was first contacted by an All My Sons representative, she told me that "We have had 0 complaints with the BBB..." This statement, of which I'm sure was 'scripted,' kept me from checking the site and confirming. Once again, I was being too trusting. In the owner's response on the BBB complaint form he asks me "And when did people become so trustworthy?" Well, I have always been a trusting person and would certainly expect a company, along with its employees, to be trusted to do the job that they were hired to do. I feel that there is a dire need for people to be exposed to this company's past-dealings. Folks who have dealt with this company are far from happy. I would like to see this company be awarded an UNSATISFACTORY RATING, as it deserves. Then, and only then, I will be satisfied. Please avoid this company at all costs. There are plenty of local moving companies who possess integrity. This company is not one of them.

Mr. McCarthy continues to fabricate

Just to show the readers that Mr. McCarthy is a true example of " you should practice what you preach". He states that we have no integrity, but he himself has no integrity. Why? He states that we have 15 complaints, we only have 14 in 36 months. I guess he doesn't know how to count or he just thought 15 looked better than 14. But as I have posted our review from the BBB, all the readers can see we have a SATISFACTORY RATING!!!! Why? Because you can't always believe what you read. I also like that 2 companies he compared us to. Purcell has 2 trucks and West is on the brink of closing down and they do mostly corporate work. Look at Mayflower, 9 complaints. The more a company deals with the public, the more exposure they have. In 36 months we did 6100 local moves. 14 complaints does not sound to be a great number of complaints. I would prefer not to have any, but that's not reality. I would also like to know, why he never he attempted to file a claim?? I EXPECTED MORE THAN A DERISORY RESPONSE FROM THE OWNER!

To anyone out there in need of a moving company: please just read the owner's rebuttal. Isn't it just ludicrous? Regarding the owner's CLAIM that the driver "insisted that 'we' walk up the walkboard and go inside the truck...": How would he know what his driver did? Did he simply take his word for it? Obviously, my word isn't good enough and I can assure you that his driver DID NOT ask us if we would like to examine the truck's bay. He was too busy "rushing off," and now I know why he was in such a hurry. As to why we had the movers handle the change jar: I stated before that the change jar was quite heavy and we were, at the time, not concerned with trusting the movers with this item. It is a simple matter of integrity. Either you have it, or you don't. Regarding the company's standing with the Better Business Bureau: the owner claims that there are 2 compaints against his company. For the true picture, please follow this link http://ct.bbb.org/WWWRoot/Report.aspx?site=29&bbb=0111&firm=51001057. All My Sons Moving & Storage has had 15 complaints filed against them in the past 36 months (their standard reporting period). If you check other moving companies affiliated with the BBB (in Connecticut), you will see that this particular company has the worst record of them all. For example, Purcell Moving Corporation in Westport has had 0 complaints filed in the past 36 months. West End Moving & Storage Company in Bridgeport has had 2 complaints processed in the past 36 months (still alot better than 15, wouldn't you say?). I implore anyone out there searching for a moving company to simply conduct a simple internet search or check with the BBB. Enough said. Finally, the owner acknowledges the various agencies that I have contacted regarding this incident and asks "...did I forget anyone?" Yes, Mr. Fatigati, you did. I will be in touch with the Connecticut Attorney General's office as well as the American Moving and Storage Association (as well as anyone else who cares to listen). In closing, the owner states that "It sounds like to me that Mr. McCarthy has too much time on his hands." Actually, Mr. Fatigati, I don't, but I'll find the time for this considering its grievous nature. If you choose to post another rebuttal, please try to provide more than the last nonsensical response.

I would first and for most like to say that dealing with Mr. McCarthy has been quite an experience. Secondly, his wife or girlfriend who was present at the move and seemed to be the one in charge was asked to inspect the truck when it was completely unloaded. Not only did she look inside, the driver insisted that she walk up the walk board and go inside the truck and make sure everything was off the truck. They then signed a job completion form that stated that everything was delivered and to their complete satisfaction. I find it hard to believe that you are so certain that the items in question were placed on the truck, but did know they were not delivered until a few days later. Why is that? Why didn't you have the change bottle put in your car and did acknowledge with your signature that we do not transport money, jewelery, or hand guns??? Thirdly, All My Sons has 40 offices nationwide and they are independently owed & operated. As anyone can see, he is trying to make the public believe that we are all one by posting some of the complaints of the other offices. The CT office has 2, this one and 1 other. Both complaints filed against my company, the Ct office are minimal. We collectively do 80,000 to 90,000 moves a year. Divide that by the complaints and we are still a great company and do a great job. He has filed a complaint with the BBB, DOT, Rip-off Report, We Care claims, did I forget anyone? It sounds like to me that Mr. McCarthy has too much time on his hands.

Evelyn of Woodland CA (08/11/08) On August 6, 2008, two men, Lamont and Danile arrived at my apartmet at approximately 9:00am to move my one bedroom furnishings and boxes to a nearby storage unit. The entire time Lamont and Danile worked at an extremly leisurely pace, lingering around the truck and doing nothing at times. I carried as many items as I could to the truck just to speed things up. When I asked Lamont what time he thought they would be through, he shouted at me in an angry manner we're doing the best we can. At that point I felt uneasy with Lamont's aggresive behavior. I communicated as much as I could with Danile not wanting to anger or upset Lamont again. Once we arrived at the storage shed Lamont stated that it would take two hours to un-load the truck for a total of five hours moving time. I felt I was being taken advantae of, but I was advised in advance that I would have to pay once we arrived at the storag eunit so I had no choice. The storage shed is located in an inside climate controlled unit. It required Lamont and Daniel to walk a short distance to my unit. After they loaded my sofa and love seat in the unit, I had to advise them to move them again and stack the sofa and love seat on their ends so there would be enough room for the rest of my things (had they not, there would not have been enough room for the rest of my belongings). At one point, Lamont overloaded the cart and one of my end tables fell off. It did little damage to the table and I'am not concerend about the damage. However, Lamont responded by continuing on his way while Danile picked up the table. When time was reaching the five hour limit (2:00pm) Lamont kept repeating We're on our time now we have to move faster and he began working in a much faster pace. I said to Lamont I knew you could move faster. At that point while Lamont and Danille were walking around the corner I CLEARLY heard Lamont yell [expletives] and he continued to yell and use profanity while walking to the door. At that point, I became fearful. When they came back Danile moved the last few boxes in the unit and Lamont gave me paper work to sign including an evaluation. Fearful of what Lamont would do had I trufully filled out the evaluation, I wrote that I would contact the office with my comments. I phoned the West Sacramento office the next day and complained to Penny in the office. Penny said she would pass my complaint on to the supervisor, Anthony. I have yet to hear back from Anthony or anyone. Being over charged by at least $100.00. The move shoud not have taken more than 3.5 - 4 hours maximum. However, the worst consequence was being exposed to this kind of abusive and threatning behavior from a hostile employee of a service agency that I hired. Jennifer of Herriman UT (06/26/08) This was the worst experience I have ever had. They quoted me 6 hours and then charged me 9 (8 hours at 119.00 and one hour of over time at 175.00 an hour), they quoted me free wrapping of my furniture then charged me for it, they have a satisfaction guarantee but are not living up to it, they broke hundreds of dollars of my irreplaceable items, and the crew was about as slow as they could get. The office manager wont return my calls and I had to file a complaint with the BBB (they have 34 complaints in the last 36 months on the BBB web site). When I called for the moving quote they said it would take about 6 hours to move our 4 bedroom house. They quoted me 119.00 an hour. We moved almost everything we had to the garage and had it stacked so all they had to do was roll it up the ramp into the truck to save some time. They took over 4 hours to load it and my family was out there helping to load the truck for them. They could not read a map so they had to follow me to the new house where they took another 4 hours to unload it. They dropped most of my stuff into he garage not the house because they could not figure out how to get the furniture through the doors. They made me sign the paper work and pay before they even unloaded the truck and made it very clear that they would not unload the truck until I paid them. As I am unpacking I am finding that they broke most of me holiday decorations, antique china, furniture and my washing machine. Through all of this I called into the office to complain about how long they were taking and the office manager, Jeff, yelled at me and called me a liar about how poorly they were doing. When they were unloading the truck I tried calling several more times and he was refusing to take my calls and never called me back. I have now had to file a complaint with the BBB. On the BBB site they have had 34 complaints in the last 36 months, that adds up to almost 1 a month for three years, and that is just the Salt Lake office. To top it all off I had to rent a truck and go back for all the stuff they did not get that day and 2 of us had to take a day off work to do it. Dont trust them to do the job right. I lost about $800.00 in broken items that I have to replace and several hundred more that cant be replaced, $400.00 in extra charges to them, $500.00 in lost wages and $300.00 to rent a truck to do the rest of the job that they did not complete. David of Pelham AL (06/22/08) We are moving to a different state and I was all ready there not able to come back for the move. My wife contacted All My Sons Moving Farmers Branch, TX 75234 about moving our furniture and belongings from our home we are selling to a storage unit while we are waiting for our new home to be ready. My wife had all the items boxed and ready to load. There was not any boxing to be done, simply to load the truck and unload it at the storage unit. The representative she first spoke to gave her a rate of $153.00 per hour and said it would take two to three hours for the move, eight hours latter and a price of $1719.00 they were complete. The movers even stayed on the clock while eating lunch. I call the office to complain about the amount of time it took and the price charged. The person I spoke with said she signed a contract and that was that. He was not willing to negotiate the price and was very rude laughing at me even insulting me using and using foul language. I told him the amount of time that was told to my wife to complete the move. He said it was never discussed he then said there is nothing else to discuss and hung up on me. I know my wife asked about rates and estimated time to complete the job. She was led to believe the price would be under $500.There is no way it could have taken that amount of time to move the items as it did. Even if there was more involved then first estimated. She should have been made aware of the length of time they expected to perform the job before it was started, which she wasnt. Denise of Port Jefferson NY (05/07/08) We were moved by all my sons movers our stuff did not come on the day as promised which was no big deal for us, but when it did finally come they sent our stuff with one driver and his fiance she was all of 90 pounds and we had a household full of stuff. they actually paid my 15 yr old daughter to help move stuff not only that thee were 6 items missing that would have to follow, we have many damaged pieces of furniutre including a custom made wall unit that is going to cost 3000.00 to fix they are denying all damages I even sent a letter to the owner with the list of damages and missing items. he told us they are horrible and we would not get paid they will deny all. well I stopped payment on my check now I recieve threatening phone calls and they are not willing to discuss the issue. I gave both deliveries a 100.00 tip to the drivers since I know the damage wasnt thier fault they were actually feeling bad for us. you should see all of the damages I have also missing boxes. broken items. they are the worst the are harrassing us instead of working with us to resolve this I want to pay them minus an acceptable arrangement of my damages, they just yell scream and threaten. their own workers are afraid of them since now the drivers are lying for them. I cannot afford to fix my stuff at this time, I have to hire an attorney to fight them, they are calling us at all hours threatening us. it is unprofessional and crazy all they have to do is come up with a resonable amount we need to pay and I will pay them. instead they are lying and harrassing us. Denise of Latrobe PA (11/13/07) All My Sons Moving & Storage verbally agreed to deliver my property within a week of pickup, but when I didn't get my delivery in that time period, I called. I was told that I signed a contract saying they had between 5 and 45 days to deliver my property. When I looked at the contract I saw this in tiny letters which I hadn't read. My furniture was delivered 47 days after pickup in the worst conditions imaginable. Boxes were wet, and the contents were damp and moldy. The worst thing was that the new flat screen TV (still in the Best Buy box) was missing. When I called the company I was told they would look for it. It is now 18 days later and no one has called me! Also, the weights and pendulum are missing from my Grandfather Clock. What I want is for no one else to use this mover! Sondra of Clinton UT (07/09/07) URGENT - A moving company All My Sons is stealing my daughter's belongings as I am writing to you. The driver asked for $1100 for the complete delivery in Clinton from a storage unit which. There was to be a second load. I asked them to get the second load, let my daughter (her belongings) inspect for breakage, and I would pay them by phone (Visa)- no problem. There was no contract or estimate given. The police will do nothing to stop this truck marked All My Sons - they are committing a crime and nothing is being done. This is not a civil matter as the police are trying to pawn it off - it is a crime being committed. My daughter has 3 children to take care of and everything she owns is being stolen. Scott of Mims FL (06/06/07) I was planning a short move from Orlando to Mims. I called three moving companies. All my sons sent out a representative that gave a great sales pitch and a competitive bid. He said they would send 4 experienced movers, take two days for the move, be extremely careful, and in case of minor scratches had an experienced person that they used to do repairs. They impressed me with their honesty when they said that minor issues happen with any move and that is why they had this experienced person that would come to the house and make any minor repairs. We have some valuable antiques so I asked about insurance and they said they were fully covered as required by the state. I asked if I needed additional insurance and they said I could contact my homeowners insurance company and see if they would cover the move. They also said they would send information on a company that offered additional insurance. They also said that the movers would be extremely careful. After a week or so went by I called them to ask about the info on the additional insurance as my Homeowners policy would not cover damage from a move. They again said they would send it. I never received the information and here came move day. The movers showed up on time with two trucks as promised. They gave me some papers to initial and asked who did the packing. I told them that I had a professional packer come in and wrap, then box everything in the house. They complimented us on how professionally it was done. Day one was interesting. I was standing on the front lawn and asked if my formal dining room table should be sitting uncovered on the wet grass. It was laying on its side. The supervisor said sorry, that mover is new and does not know what he is doing yet. He wrapped it and got it off the grass. Second concern was when I walked in the house and saw the same mover rolling boxes down the stairs. Rolling meant that he put the boxes down at the top of the stairs and pushed. They rolled to the bottom. I spoke to the sup again. He stopped it and apologised. A different mover picked up a shovel and when moving it to the truck hit it against a wooden end table. Dinged the wood. Supervisor again and he said they would report the damage and have it repaired. At this point I was getting pretty concerned but what can you do. We were closing on the house the next day. Everything else semed OK on day one and the trucks took off. It got interesting the next day when they came to deliver. Again they were on time. I asked them to be careful as the floors in most of the house were wood. Stuff started coming off the truck and my wife an I stayed pretty busy telling them where to put things. The first problem was when they got to the formal dining room table. Seems the experienced movers had stacked a lot of heavy boxes on top of the table. It collapsed in the middle. HMMM Great firewood now. An antique cabinet came in with the fromt glass smashed out. Something fell on it. Our antique, never used washing machine was dented even thought it was double wrapped in bubble wrap. A collecters scrabble board was dented and scratched while double boxed and wrapped in bubble wrap. And then they dropped the piano while moving it and left a 10-inch scratch in the wood floors. By now my wife was in tears. To top it off the experienced driver decided to drive off the side of my driveway and then back on instead of backing down the middle. He cracked four 10 foot panels in the driveway. Lot's of other little things but I called in the damage as it was discovered and they assured me that they would take care of it. I had to leave before the end of the move to pay the cleaning service at the home we moved out of and walk the house. When I came back the movers were gone. I started looking around and noticed that a five gallon jar of change that was 2/3 full was not in the house. I called again, got someone at the office, and they called back later to say that it was on the truck and they would have it returned. They also said they would mail out claim forms for us to fill out. Two day later I called again. While they promised to return the jar of change I instead asked if I could come get it. I drove 50 miles to the office and picked it up. Surprise, it was now half full. Ownres comment Ah come on now, no one would take money. Came home, filed a police report, and started filling out the forms. Also took pictures just in case. I sent in the claim forms and waited a week. I also waited for a call from the owner as he was going to send out the guy who did repairs and also pick up furniture pads and boxes they had let us use. Think he ever showed up::))? No call. I called again and they said they sent the forms to their office in Texas. They gave me a number to call. I called them, no forms from the local company. Called again two weeks later, still no forms. Amy of Atlantis FL (06/04/07) We made the mistake of using All My Sons Moving and Storage when a simple internet search would have convinced us otherwise. While the company did defraud us and commit, in our opinion, several blatant criminal acts, the real story is that they have been doing this to thousands of people across the nation from depots in fifteen States. Sally of Simpsonville SC (03/22/06) We moved from Bluffton SC to Simpsonville SC. They packed us. When it came time to pack the grandfather clock it was a good thing we were present because they had NO idea how to take care of it even though we were assured by Randy they knew what they were doing. They packed us and loaded the truck except for our bed and were to come back the next day to load this bed. They arrived late stating they had to load our furniture onto another truck because they need the truck for a larger load. After loading the bed onto the truck they said they would meet us in Simpsonville. They never showed until almost 7PM! saying there was a problem with the roof of the truck and it had to be repaired before they could go on the highway. They were finished unloading our things at midnight! We pointed our scratches and GOUGES on some of the pieces of furniture. The next day in the daylight the damage to many pieces of furniture was terrible, even the grandfather clock. We also contacted the about a missing, valuable 36x32 origonial watercolor painting. They found it on another truck! They promised to mail the painting asap. One week later no painting and after several phone calls the painting was finaly delivered DAMAGED. It was only wrapped in paper with 2 smaller cardboard pieces, thrown in front of the painting and not attached so there was little or no protection. Outside was labeled fragile glass. It should have been labeled broken glass because it was shatted, the matting was chipped and scratched and the frame bent! All our dressers, dining table. sofa table, desk and grandfather clock have deep scoring on them. Again after repeated calls and them stating claim forms were sent...1 month later no forms. They apparently have no intensions of letting us file damage forms. Katherine of Grandview WA (11/05/04) Hired them to move my goods from Lakewood, WA to Grandview WA. First off drivers arrived and had no idea where the destination was. I had to give them step by step hand written instructions. Second, they did not bring their gas card, I had to pay for their gas on my credit card. They damaged a table top and new washing machine through their inept packing and moving. For example, they put file cabinets on top of my wooden dining table, with no protective covers. The washing machine was bashed and the front panel broken. It cost me $264 to have my new washer repaired. I sent repair receipts and pictures of the damage to the company in question. After five weeks with no communication from the company, I telephoned to ask about the progress. I was told that an employee had left, and they had decided to not process any claims, until clients called back. They offered to pay only half my repair bill for my washer. The manager, Laurie, complained to me that she was doing the job of two employees. When I asked to talk with the owner, I was told that they did not give out the number for Mr. Kermit Escribano. Furthermore, he is at the office less than half the week. Lori of Annapolis MD (08/26/04) My husband and I engaged All My Sons Moving and Storage of Savage, MD on March 31st 2004. We were provided a lump-sum price of $1300 for the move. We were moving from a tiny 900-square foot Cape Cod home, and packed all boxes and clearly labeled them so that the movers could deposit them into the corresponding rooms upon our arrival at the new home. Many of the rooms in our home were completely emptied and most boxes were staged in our living room, which has immediate access to our front door. Most heavy furniture was moved from upstairs by my husband and me so that the move could go quickly. When the movers arrived, they presented me with several documents to sign, many with fine print, including a Bill of Lading and Freight Bill #28893, showing instead an hourly rate of $114.00 per hour and then an overtime rate of $171.00. When I questioned the foreman in charge about the overtime rate, he repeatedly assured me that the move would go quickly and if $1300 was quoted to us (All My Sons Moving never quoted us an hourly rate and certainly never mentioned the overtime rate in the three phone conversations I had with them), then that's what we'll pay. He commented several times how well prepared we were for the move. We were very confident that the move would go quickly, since our neighbor recently moved into a large 3000 square foot home next door and the move took less than four hours. They clearly had more boxes than we. Furthermore, we had no choice but to use All My Sons Moving & Storage, since we had no time left to research alternative moving companies and we needed to vacate our house by early evening so that we could clean it for new occupants moving in the next day. They also insisted that we sign paperwork stating that if we took All My Sons Moving and Storage to court and lost our case, that we would be responsible for paying their court costs. They also left behind a paper on litigation in general - great way to start off on what would become a really bad foot. There were three movers (including the foreman) assigned to our move. The two others were young boys who readily admitted to me personally that they did not like their job (both boys seemed to be related to the foreman and clearly were inexperienced). I found them frequently sitting down, taking breaks and I felt they were moving very, very slowly when they were working. One of the boys was so obese, he became frequently short of breath. My husband and I began to assist the movers, hoping to pick up the pace, but the foreman confronted me and asked us to stop, stating that there were legal implications if we got hurt, etc. We helplessly watched the movers continue to sit down, take breaks and have casual conversation while the clock was ticking. When I again began to pick up boxes to bring them outside, the foreman asked me to stop, saying that I was making him feel like they weren't doing their job. I then made a deal with the foreman, saying that there was a handsome tip in it for them if they moved us by 4 PM. The foreman said he would tell the other movers. Ironically, the pace of the move slowed down even further at that point. When we finally arrived at our new home, the two younger movers stopped working altogether. Instead, they began to play darts in our garage. When I complained again to the foreman, he asked them to help, but they simply unloaded boxes from the moving truck into our garage at that point. This meant that several well-marked boxes, meant to be delivered elsewhere in the house, simply got dumped in the garage area. (It took us weeks to sort through it all since there were also several other boxes deposited into the wrong rooms in the house.) It was 9:30 PM when all the boxes were completely unloaded off the moving truck. At 9:00 PM, with about a dozen boxes and our sofa left on the truck, the foreman said he needed my credit card to process the moving charges and then got on the phone with his office dispatcher. When he told me the total charges would come to $2019.32, I was livid! When I asked the foreman about the $1300 quote and his reassurances, he denied any such guarantee and instead blamed the office staff for not being forthcoming with me when I first negotiated the move. The foreman told me, this happens all the time and feigned sympathy for me. Of course, if I did not agree to pay them, All My Sons Moving still had several boxes and our sofa on the truck and could simply drive off without unloading them. I felt completely backed into a corner and had no choice at that point they had us over a barrel and I felt we were given the old bait and switch and I told them so. When the foreman was preparing to leave our home, he had the nerve to ask us about the tip I mentioned to him I was completely dumfounded at that point. I told him that I could not believe he had the nerve to ask for a tip when we had a deal for them to get us moved by 4 PM. I did not pay them the tip and they drove off very angry at us, shouting expletives back at my husband and me as they tore out of our driveway. They next day I attempted to stop the payment through my bank but was unsuccessful. Subsequent to the move, I contacted All My Sons Moving & Storage on April 2nd to provide an account of our experience to a Regla Carrington, office manager at their Savage, MD headquarters. She was extremely unapologetic and only offered to reimburse us $419.32 for our inconvenience for the misplaced boxes in the garage area, but not before signing a letter stating that I made the settlement in good faith and without duress; that the acceptance of the settlement is an acknowledgement of my complete satisfaction and that by signing the letter, I will consider any matters or issues relative to the transaction to be totally adjusted and to my complete satisfaction. I have made several subsequent attempts to follow up with All My Sons Moving & Storage, since I do not feel the $419.32 is nearly enough restitution, and that I felt uncomfortable signing a letter that I did not agree with but they refuse to do anything more for us. Melanie of Boynton Beach FL (10/25/03) I contacted All My sons moving and storage. I told them I wanted to move my furniture and place it into thier facility. I was quoted a fee. After I recieved my first bill I saw that I was being charge double. I called the company to state I never agreed to this amount and would like for someone else to come get my furniture and move it for me. I was then advised that there was a fee of $381 to move my furniture regardless of who does the work. I went to the facility to comlpain of this charge. I stated that, on the original contract there is no quote of a move out fee or any addtion fees to move out. The original contract was for a move in only. I was told if I wanted the furniture I had to pay. I contacted florida department of agriculture and consumer affrairs. They contacted the company and stated there WAS a move out contract. When I was able to get a copy, I saw the ORIGINAL contract had been fraudulently ALTERED. I NEVER SIGNED A MOVE OUT CONTRACT! There is NO original move out contract! Lisa of Manassas VA (06/02/00) I wanted to tell you of an experience I had last Thursday, May 24, 2000, when I hired a company by the name of All My Sons to move me from my town home to a single family home in Manassas, Virginia. They showed a Virginia number in the yellow pages, 703-352-9700, and sent movers from their Maryland location. After researching this, I learned that they do not have a Virginia office and that the number listed is forwarded to their Maryland location. Firstly, I hired them after finding their full-page ad in the yellow pages rather attractive. Especially, the words indicating that they are supposedly the official movers of the NFL. The understanding was that their $109 fee per hour would start when they picked up my first box or item. I even followed up with them the same day by phone to verify that there were no other charges that I would incur. At 1:15 p.m., three (3) men, Fred, Will and Brian, arrived at my home and after introducing themselves by first name, Brian and Will asked to use my restroom. Brian went upstairs and Will went downstairs. While this was going on, Fred had me in my kitchen, which is on the main level, signing off on there work order that they arrived at 1:15 p.m. and agreeing to there one (1) hour trip charge that I was never told about in the first place. I was over a barrel at that point and agreed to it. NOT only had I already incurred a $109 charge for nothing, it was now 1:30 p.m. and that's when they went to work. Again, I have incurred another $27.25 (1/4 of an hour) while waiting for them to take there restroom breaks as well as wait for Fred to radio his dispatcher of his arrival time. It was then that I realized my crystal ring/jewelry holder was left upstairs, which is where I left off in my packing before the movers arrived. Now remember, they haven't been in my house but 15 minutes and my Diamond Ring priced at $3,225 is gone. As well as a triple rope 14 KT solid gold bracelet, priced at approximately $500. I approached the three (3) men who denied any involvement. I knew that was not true since it was there 15 minutes ago. This tormented me all day until I contacted the Prince William County Police whom after doing an investigation of the men, informed me that they ALL have extensive CRIMINAL RECORDS to the point that some are on PAROLE to this day. The Officer told me that with their criminal history, I have every reason to feel certain that this is why my jewelry disappeared. She was unable to do a full search and suggested that there is many cavities a person can conceal a ring.
