We called  a few plumbers from the goggle search results on the internet and our 3rd contact, All Tarrant Plumbing , Inc. was the company we chose to come to our home for a bathroom sink repair. We chose them because we were told by "Pop" aka Delores Blankenship  from All Tarrant Plumbing, Inc. we would not be charged a trip charge but only  for the actual services rendered. If no repairs were made then we would not be charged. The first two companies informed us there would be a trip charge so did not choose them. She quoted us a repair charge of $165.00 on the phone without even seeing the actual sink.

A young man representing himself as a certified plumber arrived at out door.  We discussed the problem we were having with our bathroom sink and he stepped into our bathroom to have a look. And that is exactly what he did. He bent over and looked into a dark underneath the sink cabinet and said "You need a new faucet".

He did not touch any part  of the sink, pipes or any thing in the bathroom sink at all. Nor did he use a flashlight to see underneath the sink. He was in our home for about 4 minutes. He then asked for a payment of $79.00 for a trip charge. Needless to say we were very confused. We were shocked at the diagnosis of the problem, no repairs attempted or completed and the request for payment we were told we would not have to pay.

We wrote a check in complete disbelief and the plumber left promptly.

After thinking about what just occurred, we called "Pop" and told her what just happened.  She replied with a comment indicating the plumber who was at out house had actually called a Master plumber for advice and confirmed we did in fact need an entire new faucet. She told us our sink was so old that the parts were no longer available. She became very defensive and hung up on us. She denied  telling us any such thing about no trip charge.

We called Moen, the bathroom faucet manufacturer, and told them what had just taken place. We did our best to describe the part we saw under the sink. They responded immediately with an answer. They told us we just needed a new quick connect hose and it was under warranty since our home was just built 5 years ago with all new materials! They offered to send the free part overnight at no charge because they were so amazed at how the plumbing company treated the problem.

We are very distressed about this plumbing company for several reasons. First, they are dishonest about trip charges. The plumber in our home never at any time contacted a "Master Plumber" to ask for advice on our problem. Secondly, the plumber never looked at the hose under the sink. We are certain he did not see anything under the sink when he bent down to look because the hose is located behind the sink. One would have to lay down and look up to see it and use a flashlight.

The only way we could see under the sink is to lay down, look up and behind the sink  and use a flashlight. Thirdly, this young man who represented himself as a plumber is probably not. I believe anyone who claims to be a plumber would certainly at the very least look at a problem before diagnosing it. Our home is new and he aid our sink was old. He clearly had no idea what he was doing so we believe that is why he recommended an entire new  faucet instead of attempting a repair.

We feel very certain this whole scenario is a scam. I want others to be aware of it so they will not be in our situation. This plumbing company needs to be reported the licensing agencies and governing bodies . I hope they can be stopped form stealing from other unsuspecting individuals in the future.

We actually fixed the sink ourselves. No we are not trained plumbers, it was just that easy and quick to repair. It was a simple hose replacement requiring no tools.  The old hose came off with a click of a plastic  quick connect  attachment and was easily replaced with the quick click of the same plastic quick connect attachment. It is a horrible feeling to be scammed. I hope this report will help to prevent All Tarrant Plumbing, Inc.  from continuing to take advantage of consumers.
