I bought my daughter a dress from "All The Rage" over on Rodney Parham Road on March 6th. The dress is too big in the top, the sales lady there assured me that the top could be taken in. I was skeptical about this because it has bead work on the bodice.

They did not have a smaller size, my daughter wanted the dress, and again the sales lady assured me that it could be taken in. We took the dress to a professional seamstress and we were informed that the dress could not be altered because of the bead work on the bodice. I called "All The Rage" on March 29th to ask if I could please bring the dress back and exchange it for another dress. The sales lady that answered the phone was extremely rude and would not even let me finish my sentence. I was told "NO EXCHANGES ALLOWED....ALL SALES FINAL".

I was mislead by this same woman just three weeks prior. This little experience cost me several hundred dollars.

I do not appreciate being lied to and mislead.

Let's not trust that salespersons are professionals

You know what, maybe I was foolish for purchasing this dress. However, I trusted that this sales person was a professional with some kind of knowledge as to her own product. And further more a refund was not being requested; only an exchange for another dress that fit properly. Which by the way would have meant even more revenue for the store? Instead I was talked over, not listened to completely, and was treated in an extremely un-professional way. I can understand stores not refunding money on products, but to flat out not even allow an exchange or store credit within a 30 day period is ridiculous. Especially when the sales people know that the item will have to be altered. And let's be realistic most homes have both parents working. It takes several Saturdays to run to a couple of professional seamstresses for fittings. So a 30 day exchange policy is not so far fetched!

You were skeptical that the item could be altered, yet you accepted the salesperson's assessement without even asking what their return policy was? And this was for a sevelal hundred dollar item? Then, 23 days later, you finally call to inquire about a return. Stores such as "All The Rage" have learned a lesson over the years. It's not uncommon for someone to buy a dress, wear it for a special occasion, and then try to return it. Therefore, "NO EXCHANGES ALLOWED....ALL SALES FINAL." If you are willing to spend several hundred dollars on a dress, at least use common sense and ask about the return policy BEFORE the purchase. Accept responsibility for your own foolishness.
