I am looking for a job in Vancouver, BC. so I am registered with Workopolis and Monster. I get a nice e-mail from someone advising me to post my resume on vancouvercareers.net, because they just filled a job matching my qualifications and it was very hard to fill.
So I post my resume. The site is nice and slick, which is a pleasant change from the usual job sites. Anyway, the first indication I get that there is something amiss is when I receive a job alert containing a link to jobs in the US Army and a whole bunch of "work at home and make thousands of dollars" jobs.
I immediately remove my resume from vancouvercareers.net. Then, today I get an e-mail from someone identifying himself as Roger Smith who is State Director for American Income. This smells really bad so I do a search of this site and find no less than 80 reports of this outfit as a notorious 200 bucks up-front rip-off. Coincidence? I don't think so.
