Allegiant Air may have attractive ticket prices but beware of unreasonable limitations on baggage and carry-on luggage which if enforced will significantly increase your trip costs.

The web page terms and conditions has some ominous financial implications.  The weight allowed on checked baggage is only 40 lbs !!!  All other airlines have a 50 lb limit.  The problem is that anything over 40 lbs has an additional charge which is very significant!  Almost all normal luggage which easily fits the "measurement" limitations will hold 50 lbs when full but cannot be checked without extra charges.  Unless you limit yourself to checking "carry-on" size luggage, you will exceed the weight limitations and as the result you may have to check an extra piece of luggage which incurs another luggage charge---each way!!

There is a free "personal carry-on" allowance for one purse or a laptop.  The problem is that the free carry-on has size limitations that cannot be met with pieces of normal/reasonable size!! Unless you have a "notebook" or very small laptop,  all of the available carrying cases for normal laptops I have been able to purchase exceed the 16" max "length".  Hence, if enforced, I will have to pay $35 each way to carry it on because it becomes a "chargeable carry on"!!

That leads to another scam concerning the unreasonable size limitations on carry-on luggage.  The  terms and conditions specify 9"x14"X22" for carry-ons.  The problem is that virtually all carry-ons available are too large because the terms call for dimensions that "include wheels, handles, and decorations".  Standard/common carry-ons are 23" to 23 1/2" high using those restrictions.  Therefore unless you have a "childs /toy carry-on"  you will not be allowed to carry it on and will be required to check it as luggage--resulting on another $35 (or higher) charge both ways.

In summary,  you need to determine ALL the costs to fly Allegiant because they have I believe
purposely specified unreasonable/unusual restrictions which automatically and significantly increase your trip charges dramatically that are not experienced on other airlines.
