Recently purchased an extreme towing transmission for my 94 Dodge Ram 2500 which I have not received from supposedly Phoenix Remanufactured Transmission for almost 3000 dollars due to shipping and core charges. First of all their communication, phone etc., sucks. I call and call and call with no answer. Then all of a sudden I get a call from Gabriel, 10-14-08, whomever he is that the transmission will be shipped out soon and it is taken a little longer due to the upgrades. Well after a few days I contact the carrier who I was told will be transporting, R & L Carriers, and they show no shipment scheduled or in process whatsoever. Once again more phone calls no answer. Now today, 10-17-08, I get a call from Gabriel from a restricted number and he says it will be shipped today via UPS freight and didn't leave me any more information on my voicemail. Called UPS and said to call back Monday to find out for sure of the delivery which they were nice about looking up with no tracking number or anything. Now as far as whomever these people are I have no clue anymore. Seems like they are scam artists like I've seen before that change their names when they get in a bind to be able to screw people out of their money. I'll say it is weird how Phoenix Remanufactured Transmissions totally gets wiped off the internet and ebay and low and behold Alpine Transmissions comes into play on the internet and ebay. Course Alpine has no recollection of any of the names of people of PRT or Frank Kuperman according to Alpine's owner Charles Williams. Even if I do get the tranny now it seems that I have to worry about it being legit and not broken like most of the forums and reports have been saying. If it is then it will be a waste cause obviously there is no means of communication to these people.
