REFUSED TO WAIVE LATE FEES EVEN THOUGH I HAVE BEEN AWAY FOR ON VACATION, I THOUGHT THEY WERE ALREADY PAID.

RECEIVED A REMINDER LETTER LAST WEEK TELLING ME I OWED $56.97. WHEN I CALLED TO TRY AND PAY THE BILL A RECORDING TELLS ME I OWED $67.'

THE REMINDER LETTER STATED I HAD UNTIL JAN 23, 2017 TO PAY THE BALANCE.

THE REMINDER LETTER IS DATED JAN 5, 2017 THAT I BELIEVE IS THE SAME DATE THAT THE ORIGINAL BILLING STATEMENT WAS DUE. IT FEELS LIKE THEY ARE IN A BIG HURRY TO CHARGE LATE FEES. I KNOW IF I EVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH VERIZON THIS WOULD NEVER HAPPEN. EVEN MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY HAS MORE RESPECT FOR ME THEN THIS COMPANY AND I HAVE BEEN WITH CABLEVISION FOR 30 YEARS

IN THE PAST AS LONG AS I PAID THEM IN FULL BEFORE THE FINAL DATE ON THE REMINDER THE LETTER NO LATE FEES WERE ASSESSED.

WHEN I ASKED TO SPEAK WITH A SUPERVISOR THEY REFUSED TO TRANSFER ME. A TAPE RECORDING OF THE CALL IS AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.

I SENT AN EMAIL TO THEIR CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS, RECEIVED A CALL BACK BUT THEY REFUSED TO CREDIT ME THE LATE FEES.  TODAY WHEN I CALLED THEM TO TRY AND MAKE FINAL EFFORT TO RESOLVE THIS A RECORDING TELLS ME IF I AM CALLING ABOUT THE $10 LATE I SHOULD HIT A NUMBER ON MY PHONE KEY PAD AND THEN IT HUNG UP ON ME.

THIS COMPANY IS WAY OUT OF TOUCH WITH ITS CUSTOMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE OTHER INTERESTING THING IS MY BILL EVERY MONTH IS $26 NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN ITS $29 AND THAT IS FOR FREE TV NETWORK CHANNELS AND NOTHING MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The person who is criticizing the original poster for complaining about the "new" Optimum, aka Altice, has no idea what they are talking about.

I also have had problems with them the last two months, after being a customer for 30 years with Optimum and its previous incarnations.

My service was off for two weeks. They sent a repairman out, who said it had been erroneously disconnected. He hooked it back up. But I was still billed for the two weeks it was off and Optimum will not credit me for that time, even though it was their mistake.

On top of that, they started filing late fees, and after only two weeks, turned it over to a collection agent.

Go on Optimum's Facebook page and look at all the complaints, there are tons about these late fees, unwilling to pro-rate service that is disconnected, etc. Terrible company now.

Whoever wrote the idiotic rebuttal, telling this person they should pay their bills, either works for Optimum/Altice, or is just a moron. Either way, he's screwed.

 YOUR vacation has NOTHING to do with what YOU OWE!! THAT is just YOU sucking around for sympathy. The REALITY is maybe they are tired of losing money to people who just CANNOT pay thier bill on time. Given the tone of your post one can safely assume that YOU are used to getting your way with late fees. Probably one of those PITA people who make others lives difficult. Either way a LATE FEE is because YOU DIDNT PAY ON TIME! HOW is this ANYONE ELSE FAULT but YOURS? YOU CHOSE to NOT PAY! I fail to see HOW this is a rip off when by your own adimission YOU are habitually late in making payments.
