Please be careful when receiving bills from this company. Upon receipt of a bill dated august 9, 2008,the first thing I did was to try and verify the creditor. The name was on the back of the letter and looked legit.

The first clue that I had was that there were no dates noted. I googled the supposed original creditor and found it listed as a medical center in Chesapeake VA. I've never been to that part of VA., and certainly had not had medical services provided anywhere in VA.

This morning I called ALWSourcing and was told that the original bill was created in 1997. I have an account with Equifax and have been monitoring my credit report for the last five years. (People, if there is anyway you can afford one of these monitoring services, which are not that expensive for the service they provide and the peace of mind, please sign up.) There has never been and entry for this medical service.

The statute of limitation is 7 years from the last payment. There has never been a payment made so, how in the world 11 years later do I suddenly get billed. This is a rip off. Something very interesting. Last year and the year before that, about this time of year or a little later, I received letters like this from other collection agencies. All with bogus accounts from more than 10 years ago.

What's sad is that there are people that panic or, don't research their indebtedness. They want a clean credit report and the prospect of paying half of "what they owe" seems very attractive.

Call these people. Tell that you are not paying one red cent and that you will report them to the BBB and anyone else that will listen. Don't be surprised when they quote the last 4 digits of your social security number. It's very easy to obtain that. Report them, and then let your family and friends know about your experience. You don't even need to spend the cost of a stamp to put it in writing that you dispute this debt. They will leave you alone because there was never a debt to begin with.
