I was recently contacted about work as a Medical transcriber. Once I completed the sample and it was accepted, I was notified then about a job interview. I had no idea that I would have to come out of pocket to do data entry (basically). In order to start training and working I would have to purchase the software for $495.00, not to mention the books required for the training which is $60.00. If I am looking for employment wouldn't it be obvious to see that I cannot afford to pay these ridiculous amount of money for training. Then there is no guarantee that the training will equip me with the proper training to work. This is not a risk I am willing to take, money is too tight to risk losing and losing my commonsense over. Be careful people, scammers don't care.

MTprofessionals Is No Ripoff

I have been training with Mtprofessional for over a year.  They charged me 495.00 for the software to listen to transcription practice wav files.  I go to their site and download my practice transcriptions and the .pdf key so that I can check my work.   I have a trainer who answers all my questions.  She grades my tests.  She offers to help in anyway she can.  The answers are personal.  Yes they seem to use macro-type answers, but I have gotten emails about issues that definitely were not prerecorded.

I see complaints about this company, but I don't believe them because all I paid was the original fee, and after the fee was paid, I downloaded the software, I purchased a medical transcription course from Amazon to become somewhat familiar with the prefixes, suffix and root words, so I wouldn't be hearing what amounts to a foreign language. The lessons and the feedback and training tools are legitimate.  Yes, education costs money, and this was the least expensive option for MT training I found.

If you go to an online college, training costs thousands and not hundreds of dollars.  If they were ripping me off, why do they keep working with me in order to be able to work for them.  MT is much more difficult than I originally thought.  Yes, this is taking longer than I thought it would.  You have to learn the proper grammar and formatting and thousands of medical terms for drugs, diseases, body parts, durable medical equipment, and you also have to learn how to listen very carefully.  My trainer has helped me with every step and if needed, everyday of the week.  Don't think you are going to learn this overnight.

I have faith in MTprofessionals, because they have treated me very well with educational support, and I have been training for over a year.
