At the end of October I placed an order for 2 books and selected the free shipping. Bothe were in stock and available to ship immediately. When almost 3 weeks had passed and nothng had arrived I checked the order status. Both books were scheduled to ship on December 5th and arrive around the 15th. Oh a hunch I canceled the order and then placed it again for the same two books adding a third book by one of the two authors, this time I paid the $5.85 in shipping and handling charges. These books shipped out the next day!

Hi, I just wanted to comment about your complaint about the shipping delays when you selected free shipping. I use this service from Amazon all the time, and have never had a problem. If you look under the description for "Super Saver Shipping" you will see that when you select that method of shipment, it takes about 5-7 days before it leaves Amazon's warehouse. Since shipping is FREE, you have to wait a few more days to get it. I believe they do this because they send these free shipments out in batches. When it says "usually ships in 24 hours" it will do exactly that. If you pay for shipping or are a member of Amazon Prime, which gives you free two-day shipping (it's an upgrade for the super-saver shipping and it has an annual fee, but you can get a three-month free trial.) I have been shopping with Amazon.com since 1995 (yes, that long) and have had hundreds of shipments from them with no real problems. The only one problem I had was ordering Harry Potter book 4, when they promised overnight shipping via Fed Ex. Fed Ex never delivered it to me; either it was stolen from my porch or Fed Ex decided to keep it (the box had the book advertised all over it). Amazon refunded my money, no questions asked.
