01/05/2001 - (Yeah the date is correct!! It's been more than a year with this ordeal) - Ordered the Cybersonic Toothbrush from TV commercial. The full amount ($108.70) was charged to my credit card and deducted on 01/07/2001 from the account.

01/08/2001 - I for some reasons decided to cancel the order and promptly called the customer service. The representative at the other end cancelled the order and informed me that since they had not shipped the order, the entire amount of ($108.70) will be credited to my credit card account within 2-3 weeks.

01/15/2001 - Surprise!! I still get my toothbrush, and it had a dispatch date of 01/08/2001. Cybersonic shipped the order even after they received my order cancellation. I called them again and told them what happened. The representative at the other end asked me to send back the package without opening it - she also said that I would still get the full amount of $108.70, but not the shipping cost that I would have to pay to send the toothbrush back.

01/17/2001 - I sent the toothbrush back by Airborne courier (cost me $13.05).

02/19/2001 - Called Cybersonic and was informed that it will take another two weeks for the refund to be processed.

I called them a few more time - but still no refund. I got busy with my things and but I always remembered my Cybersonic episode whenever I saw an electronic toothbrush anywhere (malls, TV ads). I always hoped that I will someday try again to get my money back.

01/21/2002 - Surprise!! I got the annual replacement brushes from Amden Corporation for the Cybersonic brush, that I had returned and had almost given up on the refund. I checked my credit card statement - and yes, they had charged me $4.65 for shipping the brushes on 01/03/2002. I started calling Cybersonic again - but all my calls to the customer service number (800-770-7525) returned me a recorded message that "...due to heavy demand of their products for the holiday season ... best time to reach them are 4-7 PM Pacific Time". I tried all the hours but am not able to get anyone at the other end.

01/23/2002 - I looked up the web page for amden corporation www.amdencorp.com, and called the contact number that they have on the site (949-240-3321). This time I was lucky and was able to speak with one Ms. Christina. She looked up my details in their system, and confirmed the return of the Cybersonic system as well as my request for refund. She has promised me look into the matter and get me the refund for the toothbrush $108.70 and also the shipping cost for the replacement brushes $4.65 in 2-3 weeks. I also logged a complaint regarding this on their web site, but no response from them yet.

01/29/2002 - Am logging this report since I am convinced that it will not be easy to get my money back, if I have to rely on their stories and false promises. I will keep trying to get the customer service number however I decided to log this report just to add my voice to the many others like me, who have been ripped off.
