So how is it that the bank is at fault? You as the account holder initiated the request and the bank its policies to follow. Manage your account wisely and you wont have problems.

This might not help now, but maybe in the future, it could be useful. I used to work in the Merchant Services Division for a credit card processing company, and the official line is that if a sale is made with a credit/debit card, it can ONLY be refunded to that same credit/debit card. Well, if the merchant is genial and the amount is not a whole lot, the merchant may well be willing to refund you in cash or with a check. What Visa/MC/Amex/Disc etc., doesn't know, won't hurt! It's definitely worth asking, and clearly much faster!

Submit the receipt for the company expenditure to your husband's company for reimbursement. Problem solved.

Well the reason it was done by accident is because when he pulled the card out of his wallet he thought he pulled the company credit card out since they look the same. That's how it "just flew out" of his wallet.

The real issue may not be with the merchant at all. It may very well be with the processor the merchant uses. If the merchants has too many refunds, the processor will put a hold on all the transactions until they decide everything is okay. This may take time. Sorry.

First, I don't quite understand how you "accidentially" use a VISA card. Did it fly out of your wallet on it's own and into the merchant's credit card scanner or what? Secondly, the failure of a merchant to issue a refund or reverse a charge is in no way your bank's fault. If they indeed issued a credit it would be returned to your account within a week or so. Obviously, they have not done this and apparently do not intend to for whatever reason. This is why you have to file a dispute through your bank. Your problem is with the merchant where the VISA card "accident" occurred, NOT with your bank.
