America On Line - AOL ripoff Fletcher Ohio
bought PC aol optimised with 30 day free trial. was to be billed to my credit card in 3 monthly installments of about $100.00 plus shipping& handling(about $50.00). billing was done all at once on my credit card at a cost of about $350.00. Not the agreement I made with them (aol) or in keeping with their ads in magazines of 3 installments of $66.66 or so. My paymets were higher because I wanted a larger memory than on the standard PC for $66.66 in 3 installments.
Today I sent the PC back in less than 30 days, but it appears aol had already put the charge of 350. or so all at once on my credit card. I think the Feds shold take a look at aol practices in general. I have no further use for anything re:aol, except from the standpoint of some type criminal investigation of them.
Incidetally, I sent the PC & componets back by by UPS as it was sent to me. i took out additional insurance, used the same credit card aol charged on, and kept all receipts from UPS. I also called and notified my credit card bank of the problems with aol.
They are ready to dispute all the charges in 30 days if aol does not remove them before then. aol might be big, but they are tiny compared to the might of America's banking institutions!
