The newest tactic for AOL is to provide a "risk free" disk. When I first had started up my account on April 8th, 2006, I called them about what this is suppose to mean. What I was told that it means (by an AOL employee) is that you have to pay for your service up front (which isn't stated anywhere in or around the disk) and that after 60 days, if you aren't happy, you can get a refund. Well, I quit my account on April 18th, 2006 and received a letter dated May 1, 2006, that stated they refuse to return any money to anyone unless it's a free disk. They decided they were going to try and charge me a "service charge" and use that monthly fee I paid to go towards that. I was so angry that I've written them and demanded my money back. And I also mentioned to them that they do need a class action lawsuit for this. They are getting away with far too much and need to be sued every time they pull this on a paying customer. Now I feel that I'm entitled to the entire amount that I paid, which is $30.90, rather than just the partial, from the time I didn't use. I didn't even use the whole month, yet they are trying to charge me for that and it almost appears as if they are threatening to take out more money on top of what I've already paid. Can someone help? This is way out of control. Thanks!
