American Clear Air Inc. False advertisment, Failure to honor contract, over charging credit card Austin, Texas
This is an air duct/carpet cleaning company that operates in Austin and San Antonio. They claim to be out of Seattle, however, its a franchise that is owned out of Austin. This company has high pressure sales and advertise that if you buy their UV Light cleaning system for your air ducts that you get five free air duct cleaning. Once you buy the UV light for more then double of where you can get it elsewhere they never honor their free air duct cleaning. They state it on the contract yet they always avoid doing the job. When you call and try to set up a cleaning appointment they say they don't have any times slots open for you, however, if you call and pretend to be someone else and want to purchase a service they have all the time in the world to help you. Well after a year of trying to get my free air duct cleaning I needed to have the UV light bulb replaced. I called them up since I am under contract with them and ask for a replacement light bulb. They quoted me a price of 120 bucks, and say that is for the purchase of the light and installation is free as to your contract.
I look up the bulb from the company that makes the UV light and they sell it online for 60 bucks. I let the owner know that I can purchase it direct from the company myself for 60 bucks and he then changes his story. We agree to 80 bucks and I then ask him about my free cleaning service and he says no problem. The day of the appointment a guy comes by and says he is only there to install the bulb and another crew will be their in the afternoon to do the duct cleaning. He installs the bulb and takes my 80 bucks, yet the cleaning crew never came. I called the company to inquire as to why the cleaning crew never came and they said they don't know why and that the manger will contact me soon. The manager never calls and I have been calling almost everday ever since and I always get the run around. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and the State Attorney Generals Office. This company is out to scam you. They have false advertisment, they don't honor contracts even when you spend thousands of dollars, and they don't care about you the consumer once they have your money. Stay far away from American Clear Air Inc. Oh and their is nothing American about this company the people that own it are from the US.
