Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
In August or September of 1998 United Credit National Bank sent me a credit card with a credit limit of $250.00. It had already been charged $179.00 for the American Credit Educators so called Credit education kit. The Education kit was useless garbage and the credit limit was far less than satisfactory. I called the customer service number immediatly and cancelled the card.

I was instructed by the rep to cut the card up and place it into an envelope and send it back as well as return the education kit. I which I had done so.

A month later I receive a bill for the credit card. I call customer service and explain the issue to them and they informed me that this was a mistake and that I should not get any more statements or bills in the mail from them and that if I do to disregard them. They claim that it takes a little time get the account out of the system.

I received 2 more statements from them and then nothing. I had assumed that it was resolved.

About a year later I receieve a bill from them for $300.00 stating that this amount is due and immediatly or the account will be turned over to collections.

I call the customer service once again and explain the situation. They inform me now that I was to write a letter for cancellation that it is not done over the phone. I was informed that if I write a letter and send it in that it would be resolved. I do once again as I was told.

A few months go by and and I here nothing and receive nothing. Then there it is a collection letter. I call the number on the collection letter and get the run around of a life time. "Sorry sir you need to call this number and that number" one time it was someones residence. I finally get someone to talk and they inform me that they show no record of cancelation in the database and no record of me ever calling in. At this point I was ready to explode.

Once again I send a letter and am told again by the rep that they are really sorry for the trouble that I have had with this situation and it will now be taken care of. I half heartedly accepted the appology.

Well once again I did not hear anything from them. I even called again to see if it was cleared up. I was told that it was closed and that nothing was owed.

THEN I get a copy of my credit report. I see over 90 day delinquent since September of 1999 listed with their company. I send a dispute letter to all 3 Credit bureaus.

Suddenly I am reciving collection notices again which I still am today. I call them like a moron again and they tell me that there is no records of me ever calling in. No record of any letter being sent in. No record of the Credit Education Kit being returned to sender and No record of the card being sent back destroyed!

These people need to be put to a STOP!
