     I purchased a pair of mufflers and end caps for my motorcycle and authorized American Custom to charge my credit card $282.00.  Later that week I noticed that this company had charged my me $430.00.  When I called to inquire about the discrepancy,  I was told that the price listed on the website was for one muffler (Mufflers are sold in pairs...much like shoes) Additionally, I was charged an $85 core charge that would be returned to me after I sent them my stock Harley Davidson pipes (which are valued at more than $600.00).  Bruce, the customer service agent I spoke to, did not have an answer for charging this additional item to my card other than to say that it was company policy.  To clarify, I asked, "Is it the policy of your company to charge fees to a customer's credit card without their knowledge or permission?" and Bruce responded, "yes".  

     When I pointed out to Bruce that his deceptive pricing is in violation of Connecticut's Deceptivre Marketing legislation he responded simply by saying, "no it's not" as if that somehow erased the fraud.  In my opinion., this company is run by individyuals who lack the knowledge and expertise necessary to operate a business legally and ethically.  If they know so little about operating a business...I wonder what else they don't know.  Stear clear of this outfit...based on their business practices, I doubt they will be around long anyway.
