My being an owner of a unit (motorhome) Steve and his company managed in his rental program for several years, I can appreciate and often sympathize with them. His contracts are plain, concise, with no fine print, hidden remarks, or subliminal messages. His business practices reflect the wishes and demands of those like me - the OWNERS of the RVs used by his company! I would've probably sued him had he installed a gun rack and naked lady mud flaps on MY motorhome for a rental customer! Get real, folks... It stands to reason that when a company does the volume of business that American Dream Vacations does, there will most definitely be a disgruntled consumer somewhere along the way. I took my RV out of his program ONLY because of the age of the unit;however, you can bet when I finally upgrade my coach, it will be back in his program if he'll have it!! Steve and his associates provide a great service to both the RV owners he deals with and the consumers who want to give RVing a try without going several thousand dollars in debt. And they obviously do an excellent job at it, as referenced by his recent expansion into Oklahoma and Colorado!! Way to go, Steve!

My band the Country Kickers had gigs last summer at the North Texas State Fair and at Oklahomapalooza. We reserved a Highway Master and requested and guaranteed a gunrack and naked lady mudflaps. We got the HM, but there was no gunrack and it had Yosemite Sam mudflaps instead! The captain's chairs in front had cupholders too wide to hold a tall boy. We were reasonable but we couldn't get a refund. Stay away from them! This summer when me and the boys hit the road we'll be more careful. Thank you and have a nice day.

RV rentals can be compared to renting a condominium and there is a cancellation fee involved once you've made a confirmed reservation. Our reservation plainly states our cancellation policy on the front of the reservation and is the first sentence on the form. If you are 90 days or more away from your confirmed pick up date, there is no cancellation fee. If you are between 30 and 90 days the cancellation fee is $100.00. If you are within 30 days of your pick up date, the cancellation fee is $200.00. Every customer is required to read and sign the reservation in order for us to hold that unit for them. Nothing is hidden nor is it "fine print". Our rental units are all owned by individuals and we are contractually obligated to them to adhere to our written cancellation policy. We have no desire to take advantage of our customers and will allow them to reschedule their dates with no loss of money. Sometimes, a customer will attempt to cancel at the last minute and demand their deposit back in full. This unit has been reserved for this customer since the day they confirmed the reservation by way of signature and deposit. It is, effectively, taken off the market and held for them. It is unfair to the owner of the vehicle to take it off the market and then have it cancelled at the last minute. It is also unfair to other renters that may have wanted to rent this vehicle but it was "unavailable" because we had a confirmed reservation on it. The cancellation policy is in effect to keep people from reserving and simply not showing up to get the unit. Before making a reservation, make sure you understand the cancellation policy before you confirm.
