Just one of the things they broke, they kept and said "We'll fix it and send it to you. That was Feb. 11,2009. Mr. Freedman finally admitted they had it on May 25th and that we should receive it within 30 days.

Well, it is July 15th and we still have a table with a whole in it where the piece of granite goes.

They packed almost each box with 1/3 of the items from 3 different rooms.

They took a end table out of the house and didn't put it on the truck (the truck was too small) and we had a time before they finally mailed it to us, it was received damaged, could not be repaired or replaced.

They left behind what we told them to, but they also left things that we needed i.e our dining room table leaves, table pads, card table, card table chairs and my golf clubs which I definitely told them to bring. We had to have UPS go pick up, pack up and ship us these items which costs us over $300.00. We weren't going to have a repeat of the end table.

Picked up an Italian vase by the top edge, broke it and their excuse it was probably very old and previously broken and repaired.

Also broke a large alabaster lamp, which we told them to be careful with as it would not be able to be repaired or replaced. They tried to hide the fact they broke it.

All in all it has been and is a total nightmare. There are very important items we need and want but still can't find. We have moved many times in our 60 years of marriage but never had an experience like this before.

They claim it was a 1st quality move. I hate to think what a 2nd quality move would be like.

VERY HAPPY WITH AMERICAN EAGLE MOVING SERVICES!

#2Consumer Comment

Fri, February 12, 2010

I called the office of American Eagle Movers to tell them i was happy with my move and they told me to put in a good word on this site. This is the 2nd time i hired american eagle movers in the last 3 years. They first moved me locally within Broward and they just completed my move to Boston. I moved a large 2500 square foot home for under $4000 and they did a great job, again. We received pricing as high as $5800 from other companies and American Eagle Movers gave me the best price and i will tell everyone to hire them. The move was perfect aside from a small scratch on my husbands gun safe as it is very heavy going into a basement. Very Happy Again!

Answer to erroneous rebuttal by American Eagle Movers

Mr. Buck Freedman

Get your facts straight before you erroneously make comments or accuse any one of being short of funds to pay a bill. We didn't even cash the measly ck#1205 dated 6/2/09 for $21.00 from Incredible Bulk Moving.
The move may have cost approx.$8000.00, (which was not the cheapest bid) but the bid included boxes, packing, loading, moving and unloading= there was no issue over doing this in 4 days.
The person who made the bid after walking thru our one house, there was no statement that it was like moving 2 or 3 houses. we have very expensive heavy furniture that has been moved many times over the last 40 years.
The supervisor sat on the chair and did nothing, he didn't lift the vase.  It was and is not heavy and it was only about 6 months old, made in spain and we bought it new from a decorative store and hand carried it home, I was standing next to the man who picked it up from the top lip of the vase instead of the bottom.
What was heavy was our alabaster lamp (about 60 lbs) which when brought into our new home was put in the corner with other lamps in front of it, we had to insist they open it up.
Leaves and table pads are not something one leaves behind, nor card table( on your list)and the 4 card table chairs.  And as far as the golf clubs, I never said I would take them myself as I have a bad back and couldn't carry them if I wanted to.
I nor my wife never called and told your company it was a great move.
I did ask American Express to withhold only $1850.00  and I have a copy of the letter, I never requested the whole amount just wanted to get your attention to the missing items.
What we are mad about are some of the items that were kept behind in FL like our ceramic chinese bowl with 2 crabs on it and an electric broom (which was too big to box.
ALso it took from Feb. to July not 2 months too send granite insert back to us.
And I definitely object to your stating we were short of funds!!
After reading some of the other complaints about you and your companies, it is a miracle you are still in business and continuing to dupe your customers.
Would I recommend your companies, your at the bottom of the bottom!

American Eagle Movers performs thousnds of moves each year!

#4REBUTTAL Owner of company

Thank you vey much Dan Harrison for your business! We performed this move for Dan from South Florida to New Jersey and the total move cost came to close to $8000. Dan wanted us to perform the impossible for many moving companies which is to pack, load, transport, deliver and set in place within 4 days travelling 1280 miles as his wife was sick and wanted it done quickly. We completed this move in 4 days whereby we performed a complete pack including boxes, packing materials and labor, our movers loaded 14,000 pounds which is equivilent to 2-3 bedroom houses, transported and delivered the shipment with very little damage. The only items that were damaged was a lamp in full view of Dan Harrison as our supervisor on the job simply lifted the lamp off the table and it fell apart as it was very old and heavy. However we do accept responsibility for this item but we never hid the fact as the shipper was close by when it happened. A piece of old white granite for a side table  dropped and cracked and we repaired it which took sime time and shipped it back to dan about 2 months after the move. There were a few small items that were apparently left in closets out of view that Dan and his wife left and a few of those items were not on our original agreed list to load such as table leaf, pads and we were told that Dan would take his golf clubs. Upon delivery Dan himself called our office and spoke to operations telling us that he was very happy with the move and it was a great experience to arrive so quickly as promised. Then it was time to collect our payment and Dan charged the entire move on his American Express and a few hours later called his credit card company and cancelled the $8000 charge as i guess he really couldnt afford the move and was putting us in a bad situation. The credit card company called us and decided we did nothing wrong and paid us the money in full and Dan is still mad over it. Dan, we did a great move for you and im sorry if funds are low as they are for everyone but wealso need to be paid in full. We gave you a great price, a great service, and we care about our customers. This site ripoffreport.com is a great place for consumers to complain about businesses. We perform over 2072 moves per year and only 1 or 2 complaints on our fine company AMERICAN EAGLE MOVERS! 954-571-7821 Buck Freedman
