Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I ordered 2 Riello Box Office Express machines from American Entertainment Distributors, Inc. (AED) on 4.7.2004 and paid $71,000 for both of them with cashiers checks by 5.4.2004.

The first one was received in Seattle, WA in August, 2004 and is still not up. I was scheduled to receive a call from an AED Installation Analyst yesterday for a visit this week, but that didn't happen because they were shut down on 10.1.2004 by a U. S. Government entity (I don't know which one, but it's not the FTC).

The second machine is suppose to be delivered in Houston, TX on November 1, 2004.

So I'm trying to find out what government entity shut them down so I can request an analyst to get the Seattle machine installed and get the Houston machine delivered/installed or receive $31,500 refund.

Help!!!

Ok, I have received a very short email from Mrs. Linda Mulhall, Assistant to Mr. Wald, receivor for the FTC: We have a Stipulated Preliminary Injunction for AED. We have also scheduled the auction of the premises of AED. CLICK here to see why Rip-off Report, as a matter of policy, deleted either a phone number, link or e-mail address from this Report. Are your machines Italian or American made? The one machine I received is a Riello machine (Italian) and with the help of ex-UTS analysts, it just came up this week and is working just fine. If you have Riello machines, I'm sure you can get them up if you want to proceed with the business, but it will cost you more money. I'm told the American made machines are trouble. Let me know and I'll put you in touch if interested.

I bought three machines , based on an excellent concept. I , like you, and apparently many, many others, have obviously been rippred off by AED. The first one was delived on February 9, 2004, but was not installed properly, and trained until March 11, 2004. Broke down, UTS couldn't fix it "over the phone", as promised, and NEVER sent a technician to Atlantic City to repair it.We gave AED/UTS until May 1st to take care of the problem. The Bottom Line: The Store Manager put the machine into storage, having NEVER MADE A DIME. The second and third machines, which I tried to cancell, by phone calls, written letters, from me and my attorney, went upon deaf ears. AED instead sent out two machines in shambles, with no software, no front facades, no printers, and just a dented , scratched up metal box, with no locations selected for me as promised, and put these two machines into a Storage Facility in New Jersey, promising to pay the storage fees (Masha Tango) until they sorted things out. IT NEVER HAPPENED!! So you see, over $85,000 invested, and ZERO RETURN, AND IT'S THE SAME AS IF I NEVER GOT ANY MACHINES LIKE MANY OF YOU.

AED - Frozen Bank Accounts

#5Consumer Suggestion

Fri, November 05, 2004

I am seeking information in regards to the DATE and ACTUAL TIME AED was shut down and the accounts were frozen. Does anyone know that information? According to the FTC report the order was issued on the 29th at 11:19am but that is not the day and time AED was served. We need to know when the accounts were frozen. Has anyone been further in touch with Debbie Matties about this situation at all. She may be the one who has the answers. If there is anyone who can help me with this I would appreciate it very much. Thank you,

For those of you who have requested legal document. It doesn't do any good to tell you here where to get it because it won't be published so I'll highlight it for you. On September 29, 2004 the FTC filed a 34-page Temporary Restraining Order with Asset Freeze, Appointment of a Reciever, and other Equitable relief against American Entertainment Distributors (AED) etal in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida (Case No. 04-22431-CIV). In the order, it states that the FTC believes that AED violated the Franchise Rule. Deborah J. Matties is named as the FTC representative for Service upon Plantiff at their Washington, D.C. office. Also, Gerald B. Wald is named the temporary receiver and agent of the court. This order was signed by Jose E. Martinez, U.S. District Judge. The first hearing on this matter is today (10.8.2004) at 1:00 p.m. Hope this information is useful.

FTC Legal Document, verification on the shut-down of AED

We also find ourselves in the same situation as most of you. I spoke with the FTC (Debbie Matties 202-326-2047)today for verification on the shut-down of AED. She didn't not mention any legal document as you claim to have gotten. Can you please share more information on what type of document it was and what is all about. Again we are all in this togther and the more we share info the better chances we have to getting our money back. Thank you,

Could AED be set up by the same people who ran the EZLink (Pantheon) machine scams.

To all on this thread, Sorry to hear that it has come to this for all of you. I had a gut feeling about this company from the get-go. The commercials I saw on TV looked to much like the ones from Pantheon (EZLink phone terminals) which have had many posts on ROR. It might be worth looking into, and joining forces with those folks, if in fact it is the same people running the scam. Sure does sound like it. This company has the same MO as Pantheon. Good luck to all of you.

Today I received a legal document filed by the FTC against AED & others so I retract my statement yesterday.
