This card isn't accepted most of the time.  A lot of local business do not accept American Express.

I learned about paying at the pump the hard way.  After buying gas, my card was declined a few minutes later while trying to buy teething medicine for my 9 month old.  The gas station put a hold on my Bluebird account for 3 days.  Always pay inside was the suggestion.  Still having issues paying for gas inside a gas station that takes American Express. 

Bluebird has a professional app for smart phones and one of the features that had me most interested, was the ability to deposit money from a check.  They tell you that it takes up to 6 days for a check to be deposited to your card.  I was ok with that, and deposited my payroll check using the app.  It did not take 20 minutes before my account showed that my payroll check was DECLINED

I called customer service to try to find out why. The first rep I spoke to was friendly and I could hear her loud and clear. She transferred me to another rep more qualified to answer my question.  The second rep acted as though I was a huge bother from the moment she slurred hello.  I could barely hear her and when I let her know, she crammed her mic close to her mouth and yelled the question she was trying to get answered.   She took basic info, and returned with a long drawn out answer, but I could not comprehend a word she was saying. So, the question still remains. I do not have a clue why they declined my payroll check.  But I'm not going to waste any more time being yelled at by their, ahem, customer service? 

I will not recommend this product to anyone.  It has only been one inconvenience after another. 

Background info - I CHOOSE NOT to have a bank account due to the fact that my wallet has never charged me a single fee. Banks should not charge us to cash their customers' checks. These banks have survived, and thrived for a hundred years without doing so. 

BLUEBIRD is NOT a good alternative.
