Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I have been paying warranty insurance through American Home Shield for about 15 years. I pay approximately $50.00 per month, now $60.00. I believe I have had them come to my house twice. (Once for my garbage disposal, and then for a leak in a pipe)

Today my central air conditioner stopped blowing cold air.
They sent a technician out who reported that it failed due to "lack of maintenance". My air conditioner is 24 years old. An average AC unit has a lifespan of 15-20 years.  Alleging that the unit failed due to lack of maintenance is preposterous.

I had another licensed contractor come out who stated my failure was due to normal wear and tear and had nothing to do with maintenance.

I called and reported this to American Home Shield and they stated, "We don't take the opinion of independent contractors." I
told them I want them to send another technician out here for a second opinion.
They stated, "We don't do that." Eventually they did send another tech out (after many phone calls to customer service), and the new tech agreed that yes it needed replacing, and no it wasnt due to improper maintenance.

I called customer service countless times and they sent me for a runaround by lying to me several times. An employee named Matthew stated, "The AC company refused your job." I called the AC company and they were never even contacted from AHS.

Now, AHS is offering me $1500 cash to fix the job myself, but if I contact an attorney the offer is off the table...

I have paid out over $5,000 to this company and the one big claim I make, they are trying to deny. I am dumbfounded and have already contacted my attorney.

We hope to:

- File a complaint through the Better Business Bureau
- Begin formulating a class-action lawsuit
- Start an internet and news smearing campaign to get the
word out on your revolting business practices
