I also have an Isuzu, in which the engine blew up at 40,000 miles, then when I fixed that, the transmission at 50,000 miles. My replacement engine is only has a warranty for 12,000 miles. I still owe $6800 on it. Now it's being repaired for a faulty gear? that just broke apart and threw pieces all into my engine and got lodged into a belt and snapped it, too. Isuzu needs to step up and take responsibility for the S****Y vehicles that are coming onto their lots. I will never ever buy another one. As far as your situation, I am very sorry. I was pregnant and without a vehicle for 6 months while they were trying to find parts and repair the piece of crap.

Danielle, Sorry you had to suffer so many negative responses from people who have not been at the mercy of Isuzu. I have been through 5 motors. One never survuved start up. All work done by the dealer who did all the required services. My dealer, Mike Raisor here in town has taken great efforts to assist me with Isuzu to no avail. (If you contact my dealer I am sure he can link you up with me.) I have filed a complaint on this site seperately. The fact is that Isuzu has faulty Trooper motors. Evidenced by the fact that they only warranty the replacement motors for 12,000 miles instead of the 60,000 on original equiped motors even though they come off the same line, and that the premier engine rebuilder in the nation will not touch this engine. It is a good thing GM is now building Isuzu's SUV.

Some people just have to complain no matter what happens. I have a 91' Rodeo. I have had my fair number of problems with it just like everyone has with their cars. I am a mechanical engineer and an avid garage mechanic myself. Dealing with these things I have come to realize that sometimes parts just break no matter how well you take care of them. Call it my S#$* happens theory on mechanics. The second part is well your warantee is up. There really is nothing that anyone has to do to fix your problem. I'm sorry about your current situation, however that doesn't change the rules of the game. I don't get discounts for housing just because I am single. This is a case of someone needing to complain and looking for a handout simple as that.

I would advise you to contact Isuzu directly and ask them if any type of adjustment could be made to the repair costs. It sounds like a really gray area to me. The responses given you are viscous and mean spirited. I can't believe people would waste their time to go out of there way to add fuel to the fire. My guess is that they are the same ones cheating on their taxes and stealing from their companies

AS AN EMPLOYEE OF AN ISUZU DEAELR I REALLY HAVE SEVER QUESTIONS FOR THIS CONSUMER. 1) DID YOU PURCHASE YOUR VEHICLE FROM AN ISUZU DEALER. 2)WERE YOU EVER OFFERED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THIS VEHICLE? IF SO DID YOU PURCHASE ONE? 3) HAS THE VEHICLE BEEN SERVICED REGULARLY BY AN ISUZU DEALER? 4) HAS THE PCV VALVE BEEN CHANGED BY YOU SINCE YOUR PURCHASE? 5) WAS THE 30,000 MILE FACTORY RECOMMENDED SERVICE EVER PERFORMED? 6) WHAT IS THE EXACT PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE? YOU MAKE IT SOUND LIKE THE ENGINE BLEW. THAT CAN NOT BE FIXED FOR $3000. 7) WHY WOULD YOU NOT BE WILLING TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO AN ISUZU DEARLER FOR DIAGNOSTICS? THERE IS A REMOTE POSSIBILITY THAT ISUZU COULD HELP, BUT THEY ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE AN OUTSIDE MECHANIC'S OPINION. 8) ISUZU BUILDS FINE QUALITY VEHICLES, I OWN 3 TROOPERS MYSELF. THE WARRANTY ON ANY VEHICLE EXPIRES AT SOME TIME. 9) WHY NOT COME TO A DEALERSHIP AND LISTEN TO CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS FOR 1 DAY, LIKE MY HUSBAND LOST HIS JOB AND THIS VEHICLE IS NOT RUNNING RIGHT. I NEED A (YOU FILL IN THE BLANK) OPERATION AND WE CAN NO LONGER AFFORD THIS VEHICLE.. PLEASE BUY IT BACK. JUST SOME FOOD FOR THOUGHT. IT IS NOT ALWAYS THE DEALER/MANUFACTURER THAT IS AT FAULT.. SOMETIMES THE CONSUMER IS TO BLAME. KEEP YOUR OIL CHANGE RECEIPTS REGUARDLESS OF WHERE YOUR OIL IS CHANGED, AND KEEP YOUR VEHICLE MAINTAINED BY THE MANUFACTURERS SPECS... THE OWNERS MANUAL IS GOOD READING. MOST PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW WHERE IT IS.

You were sold the car with the remainder of a 5 year/60,000 mile warranty. That means whichever happens first. Your car is five years old, therefore the warranty is up. Why do you expect them to fix it now? It doesn't matter if it was a DAY after the warranty expired. Your warranty is gone, finito, finished. A sob story isn't going to get your warranty extended for free. Why should it? I don't care if you just lost all your limbs. Being pregnant is not an excuse- millions of women are pregant every day. $400 is quite a payment for someone financially insecure for a used car. Don't buy something you can't afford to pay for.
