American Leisure MD, EasySaver MD, HomeSource MD Cancelled their service within first week but got triple billed and an overlimit fee on credit card Lanham Maryland
I am filing this report on behalf of my neighbor who is handicapped. She called for information about Foreclosed Homes and gave her credit card number. She was told she could cancel within 45 days and not be assessed any charges.
When I saw the ad I told her I believed it was a scam and told her to cancel it, which she did. Her credit card statement came today with 3 charges each for $19.80, this caused her card to overlimit and got a $39.00 fee assessed.
We tried calling the company back and finding out what it was about and to get the fees reversed. After 45 minutes on hold I looked the company up on the internet and discovered that they were published as scam artists by Ripoff Report.
I discovered a phone number that got me directly through to an operator who told me how they had gotten my neighbor's information. The operator "told me" she reversed the 3 charges after I threatened her with a postal inspector (I said I was going to the Post Office to prefer Mail Fraud charges).
The company has no intention of addressing the Overlimit fee, and told me it could take 2 to 3 months for me to see a reversal on the Credit Card statement for the other 3 charges. My guess is that the principals of the company will be relaxing in Aruba and that the confirmation numbers they gave me were just to placate me.
