I actually found this website after I engaged with ALG and admittedly I was a bit worried, but in the end everything went extremely well. First, let me say that I am fortunate to be very well qualified for a mortgage with excellent credit, ample funds for the 20% down, and an excellent income. I also get "vanilla" 30yr, no lenders fees /no points mortgages, which narrows the competition down to negotiating just an "interest rate number". So, I'm tough to screw with and I strip away as much ability for any mortgage company to try. And...they have tried in the past...so I'm wary. This was the fifth home purchase in my life. That being said, AGL offered me the best rate (and I'm personal friends with a local broker so that's saying a lot). I dealt with Vinny Kahlon from AGL, who was always responsive both on the phone and email, always produced the documents I requested and when requested (I'm big on the rate lock and GFE form right up front). I never had to leave a message during normal business hours; I never had to speak with anyone else at the firm. He also engaged my realtor when requested to make my life a little easier. To be fair, a bit more information was requested than most mortgages I've applied to in the past, but I write that off to the current mortgage crisis, so no big deal. My loan was approved within two weeks of my application, and the package was delivered to the title company six days early (instead of the usual two). So everything went great. In closing, let me say that I have no affiliation with AGL or the lending industry. I found their rate on Bankrate.com (or loan.comI don't remember exactly). I'm a real person with a new real house and I have no other motive to write this other than what's fair is fair.
