Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
In September 2003 my husband contacted American Tax Relief for help with tax debt from a defunct business.

They took $1600.00 from his account and $1600.00 from my account and sent us a questionnaire. As I am putting this years tax stuff away I asked my husband how our tax issue was being handled. He didn't know, as they never contacted him.

I called (800)252-9528 and asked for a refund since I feel they basically took our money and then forgot us. I spoke with a man who said his name was Bob Hanna. I explained what had happened and he told me that they never received our paperwork and they did make one follow-up call.

I asked for a refund since they had not done anything for us and he explained that the case is too old, the money was for legal representation and there will be no refund. I asked how they could have provided legal representation when they didn't receive our paperwork. He said that they had been in touch with the IRS on our behalf. I then asked for proof and he said no that it was private information.

I asked to speak with the Joo Park (owner via labbb.org) he said their is no owner this company is a Corporation. I asked for Board Member information and he flatly said no, he's the only person I can speak to that he is the Office Manager and he can handle my issue it doesn't need to go any further. At that point we were disconnected.

I called back and again spoke with a man who said his name was Bob Hanna. I asked again about the contact with the IRS, I would at least like the dates the IRS was contacted on our behalf. He said he would need a few minutes and put me on hold. After several minutes I just hung up assuming that he wasn't coming back.

I am livid that these people are getting away with this. We take responsibility for not communicating with each other and not staying on top of this, but this kind of business practice is unethical and should be illegal.

What can we do? We still have a tax problem and now it looks like we have been scammed out of $3200.00. Needless to say we will never do business with anyone we are not familiar with unless there is very thorough research.

I received a phone call today from someone claiming to be with American Tax Relief and wants to return 25% of the the money they stole from us almost 6 years ago. Has anyone else received an offer like this or know of a pending Class Action Lawsuit that would prompt them to want to return money when they refused to do that voluntarily 5 years ago? I'm sure by accepting the 25% we will be excluded from any pending legal action.

It makes me sick when I continue to read about others that are still being conned by this company.

How many people have to be victimized before a Class Action can be filed. After being ripped-off by American Tax Relief I am more than willing to initiate a Class Action lawsuit against this company I just need someone to help me do that. It makes me sick when I continue to read about others that are still being conned by this company. I have filed a complaint with the California Attorney General's office and received a response that "IF" legal action is taken by the state of California my complaint "MAY" be used as evidence. However all the complaints made here, to the BBB and (I'M guessing)to California's Attorney General doesn't seem to have any effect on American Tax Relief I still see them advertising on television.
