America's Servicing Company Ripoff Hurricane Katrina Insurance Money Back Breaking To Get Back Frederick Maryland
Hurricane Katrina's wrath was nothing compared to what the mortgage companies are making all survivors do to get their insurance money back.
When EMC Mortgage transferred my loan after 2 months in the 90-day deferred loan period, I nearly had a heart failure. I contacted ASC as soon as EMC sent me notice they were bailing out on me. (They didn't even have the respect to wait until the insurance settlement's were stabilized)
It took almost a month before I could find anyone to believe. I called everyday until I actually reached someone who followed through with what they claimed they'd do. I sent them all the information required for my payments to be sent back to me along with all bank statements, credit cards receipts and invoices that were paid out of my personal accounts to prove my integrity of trying to rebuild my home.
I was one of the lucky ones who had some money and credit to use during this time of waiting for my funds to be sent back to me.
I am almost 100% complete in rebuilding and want someone to come inspect my home to get the final amount withheld. I'm not mentally geared up for all the bull you have to go through to find someone who cares right now, so I'm waiting to regain that strength of mind.
Once I've done that, I still have other items that need to be reimbursed to me, THAT I ALREADY PAID FOR, that were missed from the original insurance settlement. Once my insurance company approves & sends me another check, ....I will have to start all over to collect this insurance money from ASC.
The only hurricane relief the mortgage companies are really extending, is the ability to yell at or tell them off about how you think this sucks, without being penalized. Other than that, they want ALL THE PAYMENTS MISSED at the end of the deferral period or you can kiss your insurance money good bye!
As far as the home owners from Katrina who have lost everything and their actual home too....I pray for a miracle for you all. And I thank God that I was one of the lucky ones who just lost a few rooms and a roof!
