Complaint Review: Animal Kingdom - Puppies N Love Corporate Valley Pet Center - Glendale Arizona

I read your rebuttal Frank and I hear you loud and clear that you feel parasites are common place and of no real concern.  I can certainly understand that you feel that way as you have probably never had to deal with it. But I have never heard of a dog having parasites ever in my life and all my friend have pets as well. My profession is not in the veterinary business, I do not groom dogs and I do not foster, therefore, let me remind you as a lay person to the industry, this is and have never been common place for me or any of my pets. As I told you I have had over my 58 years of being alive a puppy who has ever had parasites or anything along those lines. You may not think it is a big deal, but again I do not run a bording kennel it is a home and this has been extremely hard and has caused me so much anguish coupled with distress due to your staff's not being able to identify a sick dog. Let me remind you this dog was skinny and again when I asked I was straight up lied to. No one ever informed me at any time nor did it cross my mind that you would actually sell a sick puppy for so much money to have that person nurse that puppy back to health - never once taking into consideration anything but your WALLET. There is no way your staff didn't know she was sick because of her runny poop!!!

I don';t know how much clearer I have to be with stating that you pawn off sick puppies onto unsuspecting people who believe they are getting a puppy to love and have fun with not be quarantined for weeks. Yes the guy who took my 3,000.00 did state it was a possibility and just in case here is some papers, but I asked him if this puppy had any symptoms for parasites because SHE IS THIN AND if she did I was not going to take her. He stated no no this puppy is fine we just have to let you know about it as it could be something but is not normal. That was fraud because everyone of your staff members knew this puppy was not well. Your staff also told me parasites is not considered a illness (wtf I can't rap my head around this). One would think paying so much for a puppy, you would do your due diligence to make sure they are healthy, ie no Kennel Cough, parasites, worms, parvo (which you certainly understand since you are in the business - like any good breeder who sells their puppies. Let me remind you I didn't just go in and pick out a puppy,

I played with her spent time with her and ask a lot of questions as this was a hard decision for me after loosing my little Yorkie to Diabetes, not knowing about parasites ever. It is my opinion that you hire people who know nothing about puppies or sicknesses with them, this is why if you buy the dog, then you are on your own and no turning back. You TAKE IN TONS OF PUPPIES AND DO NOT DO YOUR DUE DILIGENCE - ONCE THE MONEY HAS EXCHANGED HANDS - YOU COULD CARE LESS BECAUSE THERE IS NO LOOK BACK. WHAT YOU DO SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!!! YOU ARE SIMPLE A PAWS SHOP THAT SELLS SICK PUPPIES AND THEN WALKS AWAY WITH A CAVALIER ATTITUDE OF WHO CARES. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!!!

My Christmas is ruined because I can't have my father stay with me because he can't bring his little dog and he was supposed to spend the weekend, now he is forced to make other plans. My father is 80 years old - how many fricken Christmas does he have left. My daughter can no longer bring her dog over to play. I feel I can't have my grandson in the house because he is young and wouldn't understand why he can't play with little Zoey. I have been so distraught and crying because I feel so sorry for little Zoey and what she has been through and the negligent way she was cared for . Another point we as consumers do not know the names of medicine and what they do. I had no way of knowing that she had been treated previously for parasites and you were not able to get rid of them - obviously you didn't know she couldn't be with other puppies - you should practice what your preach and quarantine your puppies. It was not until I matched up the medicine. You all are trying to hide the pea - when in fact as long as you have your money you don't give two shits about what any unsuspecting consurmer has to go through it is out of your hair For your information Giardia is not a easy thing to deal with like you have told me even your pamphlet is enough to scare the s**t out of someone.

You staff member female stated that Zoey was received by your store December 9, 2017 and she could not believe how quickly both Wheaton Terriers sold that they didn't stay in the store very long. Well my paperwork states November - It seems highly suspect that she really even had all the shots listed on her shot record. This is why your vet didn't discuss much with me because he is paid by CPI and Animal Kingdom or Puppies N Love, whichever name you are going by this week!!! You, your staff were highly negligent, deceitful along with deceptive practices selling me a unhealthy pet. There will be new legislature introduced this December and the matter of puppy mills and stores that sell unhealthy puppies might this time be shut down, we will find out when the Legislature convenes in January. I have also reached out to the news stations since I don't think it would be legal to picket your store to inform people this is real they could be getting more than they bargained for with a sick puppy. Vet bills aside - it is extremely difficult for me and the amount of cleaning I have to do along with keeping my little Coton Del Tulear away from it all.

Even though he doesn't eat poop - they do not understand what is going on and you cannot keep them in separate rooms all day long, so little Zoey has to be kenneled or my Sebastian stuck in a room. You try it Frank some time - buy one of your own infected puppies. Your telephone call to me did nothing and certainly didn't make me feel any better. Again, I will not stop at any expense, I feel people like me need to be more educated in buying from a store that all you do is stock puppies and could care less about their health just to make a buck. Karma is real and you my friend will find that out one day.

We regret that Debra feels as if we deceived her about her puppy's health. We did not know her puppy had Giardia, but all of our puppies are treated with an anti-parasitic upon arrival because parasites are so prevalent in puppies who share kennel environments. Debra did, as do all of our customers, sign a form at the time she purchased her puppy informing her that parasites are common in pet store puppies, that her puppy health warranty will cover the cost of treating the parasite and to keep her new puppy separate from other pets to avoid cross-contamination. By signing this document, you agree to take your new puppy to a vet within 5 days of purchase as a condition of your puppy health warranty. Please bring a recent fecal sample to this appointment because it will reveal if your puppy has a common parasite, but one that can infect other household pet(s).

Parasites: The two most common puppy parasites are Giardia and Coccidia. Neither is a worm, virus or bacteria. Both are single cell protozoa that develop in the intestines of young puppies and unfortunately are very common in settings where dogs/puppies share common space. Dogs become infected when they swallow parasite cells most often found in water or other substances such as soil that have been exposed to feces. These parasites are not usually serious when detected early and treated strictly and consistently as directed by your veterinarian.

Note: If your puppy has a parasite(s) your warranty will cover the cost of the treatment if diagnosed within 15 days of purchase; however, it will not cover medical expenses for the treatment of other pets who may have contracted the parasite from your new puppy.

Because of this, we strongly recommend you do the following:

o Keep your new puppy separate from other pet(s) until a veterinarian has given him/her a clean bill of health.

o Make sure your new puppy does not share its food and water bowls with other pet(s) until a veterinarian has given him/her a clean bill of health.

o Pick-up and discard all dog feces as soon as possible to avoid any contact between it and your pet(s).

We reached out to Debra via phone and apologized for the misunderstanding, reminded her that her warranty will cover the cost of treating her puppy's parasite and offered our help to her now and any time in the future as a way to ammend this situation.
