If you are thinking of using Antamedia for a HotSpot software solution, you may want to read this. We purchased the software roughly two weeks ago after what appeared to be a successfull test of the one hour only trial version.

Trial is misleading though. Unless you pay for the premium version most options will be removed after you install the license key. This is really bad practice as it makes the software much more difficult to use. Essentially, they are attempting to annoy you into paying them more money. Features like NAT and gateway monitoring are removed. For example, if there is a problem with Antamedia software and it stops working, your gateway is wide open - people will use the hotspot without paying until you restart the service.

Also, you will need to pay extra for a credit card gateway and even more to use ssl (from them of course). If you are realistically considering costs and comparing to other hotspot software providers, you should double or triple what Antamedia quote you as these add ons should be included it they are required to make the software work.

Well, we weren't warned so we paid roughly double what we anticipated. However, we ran into problems right away with the credit card gateway. Their setup process is a bit muddled and obviously not thought through well, but we managed and double checked our work. Tried a test, got an error. Read though everything yet again, restarted the server, tried a test and no good.

Contacted Antamedia service and Got Vladimir, asked that we re-install software. We did, and setup all again which is a bit time consuming, tried again and no good. Ivan from support is helping us now, but we have still got nowhere.

Now, we are getting the same response over and over. Ivan and Vladimir from support keep copying text from the manual, pasting it to an email and asking us to do it all over again.

We've finally given up and have asked for our money back. And here is the response received today.

Upshot - they don't appear to care at all that their software is not working. We recommend anyone interested in this software to reconsider and look elsewhere.

They will be very difficult to sue as they have been carefull to omit any physical address or full name of anyone attached to the company.

Software product is non refundable as described in license agreement.

You had a trial to test the software and all it's functions, and you have agreed to our licensing policy when you installed and bought it.

We provided you with registration for the software and we can't stop you from using it.

These are the reasons why we do not refund orders.

We've not been able to use the software even once.  Each time we called we were told we needed an 'additional module'. We don't want to spend days trying to make a new version work.  We want our money back which so far you have refused.  If your software is perfect, and you argue with onyone who tries to get help, why even have a support desk?  Please give us our money back!

Mr. Daniel from Londonpop made false claims against our company and the software:

1. We do not hide cost of software nor bill hidden fees. Credit card module was listed on the website as an add-on with the exact cost. It is separated from Premium license as some customers wish to use manual billing. Website design and layout changed, but the previous buy now page listed the add-ons all on the same page, so we do not mislead a customer about the license cost.

SSL certificate is not offered by Antamedia which is also wrong claim. We partner with www.hotspotssl.net to provide SSL ready files for our customers, to help them easily get SSL for the HotSpot, as the other way customer would have to prepare the certificate files in the exact format to be usable in HotSpot. We do not any fees from SSL certificates, and believe that the service provided is excellent.

2. Trial offers all features. It's up to the customer to choose edition that is the most suitable, and place an order for license and add-ons. If unsure, customer can check about features on our website or ask our sales about it.

3. I've personally tried to resolve the issue with the customer, offered testing with their API, offered new builds that are proven to work in London and worldwide and finally offered additional license to be installed on a different non production computer, so we can configure it and prove it works. Customer did not want to proceed.

NAT was offered at that time in premium package. It's included now in all editions.

In the meantime, we have increased support staff, offered self-service help and knowledge base at my.antamedia.com and constantly looking to improve service and software.

HotSpot was updated with numerous builds, from v2.2.2 up to current v2.9. It's being on thousands locations worldwide by small hotspots, brand-name hotels, and large WISPs running 800+ simultaneous users per HotSpot gateway.

We care about customers, and are willing to resolve any potential issues.

Mr. Daniel can contact us for a new v2.9 HotSpot license.

Finally found a physical address for Antamedia if anyone is interested. They are in Belgrade Serbia. ANTAMEDIA, MDOO NEBOJSINA 30 11000 BELGRADE SERBIA
