While looking at the paystub for the period 6/8 - 6/21, I saw a health insurance deduction (SC-HLTH PTX) of $120.26. I thought that the Anthem plan was canceled on 5/31 and replaced by Blue Shield on 6/1. Do I still need to have the deduction for Blue Shield, or is this deduction mandatory? I am receiving monthly billing from Blue Shield for $364.
My contractor stated:
"I have fought with Blue Cross since May and now they won’t even return my calls. I have been trying to get a refund for you and an internal recruiter. The recruiter was able to go to Blue Cross directly and get a cheaper plan than our combined company plan! AND……now they will NOT insure us because 50% of our staff does not need health insurance. The last two payments [we] made they kept and did not apply those payments. I have sent a letter to the Attorney General in [], but as of today, I have not heard anything. I am out close to $700.00. This is the reason I kept asking you if you had found a plan through our insurance agent so I could stop paying them. I will keep trying."
Anthem owes a refund of at least $120.26! I have to check if they deducted from the following paycheck.
