The salesman really played on race issues and how he never was afforded a chance to make something of himself. He represented that this company was giving him a chance to pull himself out of the inner city spiral. The only thing this company was giving him a chance to do was to pull some money out of my pocket. When he couldn't get more than 1 subscription out of me he asked if I would buy some for "the kids".
So many flags went up but I overlooked them because I really thought I was helping this guy out. The same night I had made a purchase I went on the internet and discovered that this outfit has an F rating with the BBB. A common theme was making a person feel guilty about how race has kept this person from ever having a chance of making it.
I went online and put a stop order on my check, along with alerting my neighbor who also bought his spiel. It's such a shame, you really try to see the good in somebody and then find out what a phony baloney they are. He also had my address wrong along with only 4 digits of my zip code. But hey, why sweat it when you probably aren't sending anything there in the first place?
