If you are going to sign up for online service. PLEASE DO NOT GET AOL. Spare yourself the heartache. I was with AOL for a year and the service it self is a piece of junk. I got rid of it and switched to cox cable modem. That is when the trouble started. I made the mistake of having my AOL account linked to my credit card to make my over priced payments.
Well after I cancelled my service, I noticed that the next month AOL charged me. I called and told a representative that I had cancelled my service. She confirmed that my account was not active and she refunded my money. But it kept happeining.
Once my car payment bounced, i found out it was because the same day AOL had pulled $47.00 out of my account for services i wasn't using. After this I was pissed. I started documenting the people I spoke to and the day and time i spoke to them.
I always got my refund but it was such a hassle to call these people every month. Twice I was told that the supervisors wounldn't talk to me. Their names are James Wesley and Sherri Sadler. The reps i spoke with, Kay(don't know last name), Cindy Cromwell, Anna Thomas and Casey Park, among others.
The last time i called them they refused to give me my refund. They said this was because they had already given me to many. I was outraged because everytime they gave me a refund, it was because they had charged MY account.
I contacted the BBB and now i share my story with you. I have yet to receive the last draft they took of $47.59. I had to close my whole account, account numbers and credit cards so that these people wounldn't charge me anymore.
My bank was really helpful, but i am pissed that i had to change my whole account number and credit card. Please be WARNED!!!! Do not deal with this company. I have spoken to others who have experianced similiar problems with AOL. If anyone knows of anything further I can do, Please let me know.
