First, music transfer on to iPods require I belive iTunes 4.5 or later, in addition if you have already transfer the music on your iTunes several times you to other things like other mp3s or CDs you may have dificulties transfering the music to you iPod, depending on download source (not all download sources are created equal). this is a strange coomment, but I have had problems with either iTunes or an Apple product before in the past and I have always been notified by email that they have recieved my complaint, and product. if you didn't get such an email then maybe your right, no one at Aplle looked at it, because the package was returned to sender. this may explain why you got it back so quickly. i do recommend that anyone who buys one of these things gets a protective pouch for their player regaurdless of brand, you would do that for your lab top wouldn't you? Also I was unaware that Apple charged a restocking fee. This has not appeared in any of the other Posts on this web site as far as I can tell. I am one of those "Apple people" for sure. So take what I post with a grain of salt. I have been every impressed with the lengths that the folks at Apple and the iTunes Music store have gone to in providing good service (much, much better than any bank, credit card company or home improvement store). I hope this is helpful.
