Complaint Review: Apple Unlimited-South Carolina North Carolina - Charlotte North Carolina

Everyone who is badmouthing Dave Apple and his company, check this out. I worked for Dave Apple, and no longer work there. There were things I agreed with, and things I did not agree with. Reading these ripoff reports, I am a little confused. When I started working there, I told my wife I would not work there if there was a 1099, or personal checks were going to be used to pay. For the people that did not know what the pay was, they obviously went to the "event" with a non-trained person.

When I went to my event, I was told it was performance based IE. commission based, and I filled out a W-4. Taxes were taken out of my check for work performed. Yes Dave can come off to many as cocky, arrogant, and even sometimes rude. But if you actually sit down with the man, you can learn what has brought him to this point. As far as the name changing of the company, have you never heard of other companies changing their names? Or "going out of business" and re-opening with a different name? I have seen this on many occasions. My point is, if Dave's business was not legitimate, how does he remain open for business, and how does his payroll clear? I had direct deposit and did not have to go to him and ask why I did not receive pay for any of the weeks that I was working there. At the end of my tenure there, I had just figured that it was not time to try to work it out to open my own doors and moved on back into the IT construction field. His business gives you what you put into it. The point of the "event" interview is to decide if it is a right fit for you. The beginning portion is the pain in the butt of the job, being out there. Seeing what you will sacrifice for personal gain. The person you go out with is supposed to let you know that it is not for everyone. I didn't make it, and obviously others did not make it either. But the difference between you and I is I am not going to sit here and bad mouth Dave Apple, his company, or any of the employees there. If you take the time to get to know any of them, you will see what kind of company and family it really is. The people that work there are making the money they deserve. Some do great, and some do poorly. The ones who do poorly are the ones that do not give it their all. And thats fine, many of us are used to the traditional roles of a business model where we have one specific job, and a set pay structure with set hours of operations. But how many of those people make it to CEO of the company they are working for? And how much money does that company make? Take the banks (once again in the spotlight) who get scrutinized for the upper management bonus structures and perks of the job....well what about the low man on the totem pole that is on the phone all day? where are his/her perks? steady 40 hours a week making a little above minimum wage? They are the ones making the money for a company, and yet they are paid the least (besides the janitorial staff in most cases). My point is this, unless you have put the time into Dave's business to see if it is right for you, why try to lash out at the man. Now the gas situation I don't really fully agree with, but hey, I still made it. I even made a road trip and made the best of it. Made some good money on that trip too. I just decided it was not my time to do this at this point in my life.

regardless i get payed on a weekly basis an have been so one question how is it a ripoff why am i getting payed? aren't you supposed to go to work an get payed if this is correct than i dont see how this could be a ripoff im not here to dispute Dave's character as far as i know he is a nice person but as for a ripoff if i didnt get payed i would say it is but if your working an making money how can that be a ripoff????????i mean seriously are you people stupid or just ignorant

This company has gone by several different names for the past several years in Columbia, SC. It's even moved offices a couple of times. I felt that it was a legitimate company at first when they called me, told me they found my resume on career builder, monster or some similar site that I had placed my resume on. I was at first sort of skeptical when I met with a guy named "Dave Apple" and I was sort of confused as to why "Triple M Events" was not anywhere to be found on the front of the bulding or the sign.

Turns out that this company is constantly changing its name due to the fact that more and more people figure out its a rip-off so word spreads. I was given a 5-10 minute interview, got some nearly memorized/rehearsed answers to my questions and was sent on my way after meeting with Dave. Being told that I would hear from them soon. That AFTERNOON they called me back and offered me a "job". No discussion of benefits, paperwork, pay, or anything. They just told me to come back the next morning and I would attend an "event" with some guy who was younger than I was and had been "working" there for 3 weeks or so to see if it was what I wanted to do and I would get some good "training".

Now this is where it gets strange. I came back the next morning, prepared to be ready for this "event" which I thought we would be meeting with a client or something. I was told to dress professionally (shirt and tie in my case) and be there around 7:30am or so. I show up, help some guy with a little rice burner and a crappy exhaust system load up a table and some toys and crap into his car and were were off to attend this "event"......in front of a CVS pharmacy across town. We stood there for HOURS while I watched this guy and some chick who showed up later try to "push" this crappy merchandise that supposedly was going to help the D.A.R.E. program on a 90+ degree summer day. Turns out D.A.R.E. gets very little of the profit. Triple M events (or insert their name of the month here) gets nearly all of the proceeds and the people "selling" this crap get an even smaller cut while also doing something that I feel is unethical and immoral.

When I asked where/who gets this "donated" merchandise this kid couldn't even tell me where they took it to. He just said that somebody from the DARE program came and picked it up. He didn't even know which police/Sheriff's dept ran the DARE program. The guy I worked with was TOTALLY brainwashed. Heck, I was told in my INTERVIEW with Dave Apple that this is not a pyramid scheme. Well, I hate to break it to you, Dave, and all of your "followers" but........IT IS.

Any "job" that you have where you get no reimbursement for mileage while driving your OWN CAR to various places for your JOB is not a job that is going to take you very far. I'm too smart for that. Apparently, this guy I "shadowed" with wasn't. I don't even remember the kid's name but he wasn't even in college yet and he told me that he was home schooled in Chapin, SC. This kid drove from CHAPIN, which is 20-30 mins away everyday to work at a job that he would make less than minimum wage at. He told me that he felt that this job was "fun" and that every once in a while they would take "business trips" to Charlotte, Charleston or Savannah and would go with a group of people. He told me that usually they all shared a hotel room to save money or they would "crash" at some dude's apartment if somebody had a friend in the area. I don't know about you but in my book that's borderline if not TOTALLY CULT BEHAVIOR.

Apparently this "Dave" guy would pay for their hotel room every once in a while and give them some gas money if they had to drive "really far." After attending this "event" and feeling extremely guilty about ripping people in Columbia off I decided that I would not be attending anymore "events". May God have mercy on your soul, Dave Apple.

I do not know anything about these drug allegations but I can honestly say it would not surprise me. If you're looking to get into "marketing" or "management," I'd suggest you go to school, get an education and then start from the ground up. Any place that says you can make 6 figures in a year is totally absurd. If you think the opportunity is too good to be true, then it probably is. Wake up people. If you want to give money to the D.A.R.E. Program, you're better off writing them a check directly. I'm ashamed that the D.A.R.E program allows this company to be affiliated with them.

If Dave wasn't worried about his reputation he would not be on this website defending his "practices." Search anything having to do with Quantum Events, USA or any of these other "company" names in Columbia: PHI Promotions, Triple M Events, Class V Promotions, 3 Kings Marketing, Genesis Creative Media Production & Marketing, B.I.G. Results or Apple Unlimited, Inc. Most of them even have websites........but the exact same phone # and the same address. Do your homework and don't fall for this crap. I'm glad I didn't.

And thank you for everyone that has "stuck up" for Dave.  I'm sure he appreciates it.......i mean what's he gonna do, give you a cut in pay?  Are all of yall making six figs yet? 

First off, does it really matter what a person does on their own time when it is clearly not effecting anyone but themselves? Second, how much time does someone need to dwell on the fact they did not succeed in our business? I am actually flattered that you have really been upset by the fact you did not succeed, I wish we could have had more time to be apart of team and you would understand Dave Apple is simply a business man. A human being that is running a company that gives opportunity to others. He is not a crook, he is not dirt bag, not a sleeze ball or a drug addict. He is a genuine decent human being. He may come off cocky, but in fact its just that he is confident and he knows what he is doing. I, again, have worked for Dave Apple for over 3 years now and I have not once been misled or confused by or treated poorly by Dave Apple as friends or as business partners. I am sorry for your misfortune, but please just move on, it will make you a better person and also happier in life.
