Stay away from Apple.  Their high price for a questionable product and nothing-is-supported warranty is not worth the headache and downtime.  Purchased Macbook Pro three years ago.  Several problems. MacExperience store located near downtown Indianapolis, on Michigan St., was rude and not helpful.  After dealing with them twice over logic board issue and power adapter issue, took my Macbook to the Greenwood store with problems of Pinwheel of death, black screen and other general issues.  This was all before my warranty expired on May 29, 2012.  Ironically, supposedly no problems were found.  Now, after having my laptop back for approximately 10 days, getting black screen, unresponsive gray screen and now the laptop will not power on.  I called Apple support and I am given no case number and then transferred to a supposed tier 2 support department, that has yet to answer.  Ironically, I call back the main support number and they are not closed.  For the fickleness of laptop computers, you're better off getting some PC-based laptop with real support.  At this point, I'm in the process of drafting a letter to the Attorney General office, BBB, DOJ and whoever else I can file with.  Who all has had similar problems?  Apple has had several class action lawsuits against them for questionable consumer products, the most recent being their magsafe adapters with ripping cords (went through that hell as well.)  I will be disengaging from all Apple products.

I to have experienced Apple playing that game of there is nothing wrong with your laptop and this is with my computer being only a year old with 2 more years of warranty. I personally feel the pain of this disgusting warranty scammers selling bad computers. There constantly selling lemon computers and they need to be reprimanded for there actions I could tell you a number of an executive relations person at Apple but she will belittle you even more.

As I didn't get any sleep last night going over the complaint in my head and replaying the events that have led up to this, I recalled the suspect conversation I had with the MacExperience Greenwood store manager.  After supposedly no problems were found with my problematic Macbook Pro, he asked if I would be interested in being able to purchase an extended warranty, which were say, $100 per year.  I stated that I would considering that the per hour charge for any repair/service is $90/hr., plus the cost of materials, it would be worth it.  I then stated I was surprised that Apple, being how large and popular they are, hadn't considered doing this, as most big car dealerships now offer extended warranties beyond the initial 5/7yr. 50/70k warranties and many other industries are also doing so, i.e. major appliances and other high ticket items.  This will be expressly stated in my small claim court filing.
