Dan Ward gave me an estimate for new tile, resurface of pool and Deck O Seal. The tile had a 5 year warranty and the resurface a 20 year warranty. I did not act on the estimate and about 2 months later I received a letter offering a 20% discount. Due to the cost savings I decided to have the work done.
I paid him $1800.00, which he immediately went to my bank and cashed. The tile work was to be $1300.0
Dan brought 1 man over and dropped him off about 11 am and returned to pick him up about 5 pm for 4 days.
The old tile was removed and the new tile applied. A small portion of the tile was grouted. Tile inserts were to be applied in the steps. He tired to cut the gunite to place the inserts in and just left big gouges in the plaster and gunite. The old deck o seal was removed.
He left on the fourth day and never returned. He would not return any phone calls. Two weeks later I received a certified letter with a final bill of $400.00 I replied with a letter that he owes me $500.00 for the damage to the pool.
Thank goodness we did not allow him to paint the pool with house paint or what ever he uses. That saved us some expense and grief.
He never gave an address just a P O Box however; on the back of the check he cashed was an address of 7620 Parkwood Lane Fort Worth, TX
