Ripoff Report Verified REVIEW:

EDitors UPDATE: Positive rating and recognition has been given to APX Alarm for its commitment to excellence in customer service.

Ripoff Reports discussions with the company have uncovered an ongoing commitment to total customer satisfaction. You can expect to have any questions or concerns that you have with them to be answered and resolved in a timely manner. They have shown us their customer service process, and it reflects a desire to serve customers, as well as fix problems.

The company's management specifically told us about how their job is to simplify lives and help people to live intelligently. The management really wants every person who buys a system to feel valued. The concern for each customer's experience starts at the top, and is reflected in the action of every employee they hire.

The company also works to monitor their sales and customer support calls to see how they can be improved. They use these calls as examples for employees in training. Currently, Vivint is working to make changes to their contracts to make things easier for their customers as they have found that many of their complaints stem from feeling misled or customers paid fees they did not feel they authorized.

APX Alarm Security And SAI (Security Associates International Automatic contract renewal ripoff, impossible to cancel Arlington Heights Illinois

When we purchased our alarm system from APX, we explicitly signed up for a three year monitoring service. Just before the end of the three years, my wife called to cancel our service. We were told that it was all taken care of.

However, we are continuing to receive bills, and when we've tried to insure that we no longer are requiring and using the service. Now, we are told that the contract states that if you don't give them a written 30 day notice prior to the three year expiration date, that they will automatically renew the contract and continue charging you.

This was never explained by the APX representative at all. Now, we are going through timely run arounds on the phone with multiple "support and service" representatives, but at each step we are simply reminded that the contract states that we were obliged to notify them 30 days prior to expiration, or you are in for an automatic new three year commitment.

This is an immoral practice, and I'm amazed that it is even legal. Were we supposed to put a note on the refrigerator for 2 years and 10 months as a reminder to call them if we chose to opt out of their self proclaimed right to automatically reinstate a contract that we did not agree to. Fine print trumps morality with the legal profession, and these band of robbers.

They also continued to extract money directly from our account even though we put a stop to it. These people are absolutely relentless at taking your money once the shunt has been inserted. Do NOT allow them or give them permission to do automatic withdrawal if you ever have any hopes of stopping the service.

If you are so inclined to feel you need a monitoring system with your alarm system, then I would suggest you send a certified letter at the time of signing that you want to cancel the contract in two years and eleven months in the future. In that way, they can call you and see if they have earned the right to ask for your business on an ongoing basis.

We may be getting some resolve as we continue to call, complain, and insist on moving up the complaint food chain. Shame on APX for using and profiting off such a deceptive scheme, and shame on SAI for such fine-print deception, and for such a disjointed business where their billing and contracts department have no interaction.

PS ... the only helpful person in the entire process so far is a woman named Gloria. She will probably be fired for attempting to actually help someone! As of today, there is still no resolve to our problem.
