Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Aqua Technologies, Inc. Is the most unprofessional business we have ever encountered. They have not upheld the terms of our contract which includes a lifetime guarentee. This guarentee clearly stipulates that in the event of future flooding in which water has entered at the site covered by the guarentee, Aqua Technologies would assume responsability for the repair. Bellow is a copy of a letter of notice and complaint to Robert Brown, General Manager of Aqua Technologies.

Whatever excuse or justification made by this company (Aqua Technology, Inc.) for their lack of professionalism and lack of buisness ethics, can not explain why so many of these "ripoff reports" have been filed against them. A red flag should be raised and consumers should be aware that this buisness should no longer be in business. When someone is looking for basement repair, be sure the first thing you say is "DO NOT CALL AQUA TECHNOLOGIES or Basement Doctor!"

Letters were also sent to Kenneth Klinger- Owner of this company and to the Better Business Bureau.

Re:Breach of Contract

Dear Mr. Brown:

On May 19, 2008, a Maryland registered business operating under the corporate name Aqua Technology, Inc and referred to as Basement Doctor, came to our home located at 3350 Esquarre Court, Woodbridge, VA 22193 for a free consultation and estimate. Dean Hart, a representative of your company, presented to the home owners, Brian and Alejandra Bradol, reasons as to why their basement continually flooded.

According to Mr. Hart, and as indicated in the diagram that was drawn by him, (see Enclosure 1.) the basement flooded because of the hydrostatic pressure under the floor and along the walls of the home. Hydrostatic pressure, Mr. Hart explained, causes flooding in a house when the water table rises and builds upward pressure against the base. When enough hydrostatic pressure builds, the water will come up through the basement floor, as he indicated had occurred in the Bradols' home. Mr. Hart suggested, the best solution would be to install a pump system that would reduce the pressure by removing excess water from bellow. The contract indicated that the work on our basement and the installation of this pump would cost us $3,060.

Believing in Mr. Hart's expertise and confiding in the integrity of the Aqua Technologies, Inc. a contract was signed on May 19, 2008 (see Enclosure 2). This contract stipulated that work would be completed within the day the said construction was scheduled to occur. There was also a guarantee associated with the installation of the pump. Pursuant to this contract, if the walls and floor flooded again, Aqua Technologies, Inc. would return to the home and fix the remaining problem.

On May 23 2008, Workers began working on our home to install an interior system in which a trench was dug in the basement floor. The construction was neither completed within the time frame that was promised nor was it effective. It took Aqua Technologies, Inc. two weeks to complete the job. Approximately a month following the installation, and after the Bradols already paid to drywall and install carpet in our basement, it flooded once again.

Brian Bradol then contacted Aqua Technologies, Inc. to inform them of the new damage in the basement. He was promised to be scheduled and never was. Alejandra Maria Rios-Bradol also followed up with several phone calls but was constantly evaded. From June 2008 to August 2008 the Bradols contacted Aqua Technologies approximately 22 times unsuccessfully. They spoke to Wendy _____, Diana Conrad, _________, and Robert Brown. On numerous occasions and were evaded. Until on August 8, 2008 after being threatened with legal repercussions, Robert Brown promised an appointment for contractors to come to the home. This appointment was scheduled for August 13, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. None of his workers came.

At 1:30 of the same day, Alejandra Maria Rios-Bradol contacted Robert Brown and Diana Conrad. Initially, neither of them knew workers should have been at the house or had missed their appointment. The Bradols were never contacted to be informed that the crew would not be arriving that day. A new appointment was made for Thursday, August 21, 2008. Enclosed are the copies of the phone records verifying communication between the Bradols and Aqua Technologies, Inc. within the time phrame mentioned above. (see attachment 3)

The Bradols have been inconvenienced with unexpected and costly repairs to their home. After the work done by Aqua Technologies, Inc. They paid _______ to install carpet and drywall in their basement which had to again be removed once the basement flooded for a second and third time. They have never been delinquent in any payment. Enclosed are the records of checks cashed by Aqua Technologies, Inc.

Sincerely,

Alejandra

The customer has NOT refused service, please note the dates of the initial Rip Off Report (May 19 2008). A few days ago (June 2009) a representative from Aqua Technologies contacted Brian Bradol re the work done on our basement done over a year ago. What actually occurred was that I became very suspicious of all that was occurring and actually looked up Aqua Technologies in the Virginia State's Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation only to find out that AQUA TECHNOLOGIES OPERATING UNDER A REGISTERED FICTITIOUS NAME BASEMENT DOCTOR DID NOT HAVE A VALID LICENSE TO DO CONTRACTING WORK IN THE STATE OF VIRGINIA (which is required by law in VA)!! Needless to say, after all the trouble we had with the company, and then to find out that they legally were unable to do contracting work in my home, we hired another company to come fix the problem in our basement. Eventually, we sold the home and allowed the matter to become a learning experience do research on a company before allowing them to do work on your home. Clearly, there is a problem with this company when it has so many unhappy customers, we are not alone! I would let the issue just die, but the AUDACITY of this company representative to come on here and say that WE refused service after all we had been through is ridiculous! The company did not return calls and evaded us for over a year and did not call until June 2009 !? And no, the job did not take one day, we had employees sent to our home 2 weeks later to complete the initial job because of scheduling conflicts. THEN his logic is to say that if we paid, then we received the service. NO that just makes us honest and dumb, we assumed the basement issue had been done completely and correctly the first time which is why we paid. What is he suggesting, that I go through the trouble of writing Rip Off Reports for fun? That I am making things up? I recommend to all who are doing their research (something I should have done) and run across this report to WORK WITH ANOTHER COMPANY. And to all who have been victims of this SCAM write a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and write a formal letter of complaint to the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation of your state!

This customer has refused service! A crew was sent to the house within 3 days of the initial service call to assess the problem. When they returned 3 days later to fix the problem the customer would not let them in. Not only that, the cust wrote that the job took too long to do, truth be told, the job was done in 1 day, if it wasn't why would the customer have paid for the job after 1 day? The last phone call to the customer revealed that they have sold the house and moved, if there was a problem with the waterproofing Aqua Technology would have been contacted by the buyer/and or the realtor. I wonder if the water "Problem" was disclosed to the buyer???
