I purchased maintenance free shutters from Architectural Depot. I placed the order in early July. After waiting more than three weeks to see why they were never received, I was told that they forgot to actually place the order for me. I was very upset and told them that I would order through someone else. They had already charged my credit card and told me that they would give me a 100.00 credit on my more than 800.00 purchase. After another excessive wait and more promises I finally received my shutters on a Thursday. I promptly called up someone to install them over the weekend. In the interim I received a mytsterious unlabeled box. Enclosed was a small unlabeled paint can. This was cpncerning to me as the shutters that I ordered were maintenace free. I promptly opened the box and saw that my shutters had gauges taken out of them. While they were packaged properly they were clearly damaged before they were shipped and someone thought that I would be too clueless to notice. In addition the brackets that I paid for and ordered were not included, making installation impossible. After months of trying to negotiate my money back, Architectural Depot has refused to take back the shutters that they sent me. There ignorant customer service department has no ability or authority to provide adequate customer service beyonf promises that someone will call me back, which never has happened. When I have forced them to provide answers they state that my order was a custom order and not eligible to be returned. What they are too stupid to realize is that they sent me a terribly damaged product. If the product were not damaged I would have no reason to want to return it. My money was not damaged when they took it from me well before my shutters ever arrived? We are now in October and I still do not have shutters for my home. I am currently disputing the charge on my Mastercard, but since I am still in possession of these shutters since I am refusing to pay additional expensive shipping charges to send them back, the dispute process has been lengthy. I would never EVER buy from this company. They really shoud be ashamed of themselves. Whenever possbile I will share this story. They are terribly unfair. The mere fact that they charged my card WELL BEFORE DELIVERY,MADE ME WAIT THREE MONTHS, THEN HAD THE AUDACITY TO SENDME TERRIBLY DAMAGED MERCHANDISE is in no way acceptable and in no way will I be sent on my way quietly.
