Dear Fellow Consumers,

I feel the sense of urgency to let the world know about the horrific acts being committed in Southeast Florida. Arroyo Enterprises a Distributer of Four Seasons Sunrooms is offering Sunrooms without permitting them.

A Sunroom is permited as an extention of your home defined by Florida Building Code; with electric, energy calculations, manual J, and Heating & A/C. You would most certainly need a permit for this room in fact I would need a concrete permit, & a seperate electrical permit.

If this room was installed without a permit when I went to sell my house I would have to tear down this room; not to mention that if hurricane or force of nature occurred your insurance would not cover any damages due to lack of permit!

I am horrified that this company tried to push this room on myself without any forementioned requirements. Not to mention I was told that if they did get caught they would pull a permit after the fact and also I had to get my own electrical work done!

update on permit concerns

I would like to make an update on the report my wife made. Concerned about permitting. In all fairness the field supervisor had agreed with us that a permit should be pulled for the job we were doing. The problem seemed to be the salesperson. That and a refund that he felt was going to cost him money. Bottom line once my concern was made the owner contacted us. The drawings were made the permit was pulled and the material ordered. Even though i had not given them any further payment. The emphasis seemed to be on clearing up the problem created by the sales person. I am now awaiting the schedule for install. The permit has been pulled. I will update you as things progress. To date after speaking to Joe the field supervisor and hearing from Fabien the owner I would have to say things are going well. Permitting appears to be an ordeal

We put a down payment on a sunroom 2 months ago. Not only were we told a permit wasn't required, it was strongly discouraged, so we agreed to not have the permit. The following day we changed our mind about the permit, and called them to add the permit. Even though we've called numerous times on the status, and received some drawings that were supposedly done by an engineer two weeks after the order was placed, they still have not even filed the permit! It's been 2 full months. Yesterday we got a change order in the mail to add the $1500 for the permit. This company has me really worried right now.

Rebuttal to the Rebuttal of Arroyo Enterprises A Four Seasons Sunrooms Dealer

#5Author of original report

To Whom It May Concern; In regards to the rebuttal of the the above mentioned letter; I write this. Any above mentioned requirements that I had mentioned were specifically given to me by the Cheif Plans Examiner of St. Lucie County. Secondly, A "qaulified" sales rep by the name of Greg whom I personally dealt with told me Arroyo Enterprises would upon signing a contract, "DID NOT NEED TO PULL A PERMIT FOR CONCRETE ,ELECTRICAL, OR THE PROPOSED SUNROOM WE HAD DISCUSSED DUE TO THE FACT THAT I HAD A WOODED LOT ON ONE SIDE OF MY HOUSE A PRIVACY FENCE IN THE BACK, AND I WAS NOT DIRECTLY LOCATED ON A BUSY HIGHWAY." Now, at that point I contacted City of Port St. Lucie as well as St. Lucie County to find out requirements not to file any formal complaints. If Mr. Fabian Arroyo still wants the legal aspect of this to be a consideration then that is also fine with me since I have on stand-by 3 news staions who would love an exclusive.

Unfounded allegations on my company

#6REBUTTAL Owner of company

Mon, April 17, 2006

First and foremost I would like to point out that Arroyo Enterprises Inc has not only been the top sunroom dealer in Southeast Florida but has been recommended by many customers, newspapers and magazines as not only the top product quality wise but customer service as well. Another thing to point out is that Arroyo Enterprises Inc. has been a member of the Better Business Bureau since 2002 and has had a more than satisfactory record with the Bureau since its inception. One falsehood I'd like to point out in rebuttal to the person who wrote the letter against my company is completely unaware of the requirements to pull a permit for a sunroom. If you feel the need to be informed of the permit process and the items needed as well feel free to contact us at the office anytime. We at Arroyo Enterprises, Inc. do not only conduct business to the full extent of the law but conduct it as ethically possible as well. When giving proposal price to a customer we ALWAYS include the price of plans and permitting and add a fee for these services. We also give the customer the option to pull the permits themselves, but we never tell the customer no permits will be needed. Here at Arroyo Enterprises, Inc. we look out for whats in the best interest for our customer and having a great relationship with that customer. Furthermore, I'd like the person who wrote this to contact myself, Fabian Arroyo, the owner and contractor of Arroyo Enterprises, Inc. to discuss their matters with my company, because in fact if the person writing this letter is not an existing customer they can be sued for slander and I will most certainly look into legal action. Once again I welcome any questions about the permit process or any other questions involving our sunrooms and I hope everyone has a chance to experience our great product and our excellent customer service as well. Sincerely, Fabian Arroyo
