Thibodaux,#2UPDATE EX-employee responds
Fri, May 22, 2009
After reading through some comments about plumbing companies, I am saddened to see that the public only knows half the truth. I have worked for John Moore Plumbing and several others. I know this to be true- John Moore Plumbing is SUPER, SUPER, SUPER overpriced. It doesnt take 1600.00 to replace a water heater. Not only that but it doesnt take 200-400.00 to replace a faucet for the kitchen or bath. Anyway, after working for them I learned that things that you see on the outside are way different than what is actually happening on the inside. The owner is an ex- marketing president. He spends SO much money on advertising. Now, I know that you have to market a service to get business, but this occurrs at the expense of the employee. The insurance that is offered, doesnt pay for basic things like, relief to your back when you have a slipped disc, physical therapy and there is a low cut off for the Dr visits. There has been people working for that company since John Moore owned it and if they knew that they wouldnt lose their jobs, they would speak out. Before they moved to the Beltway 8 location, the office was a dump. Stained carpet, moldy bathrooms, leaky faucets, and running toilets. You would think that with it being a PLUMBING business, all that would be up to par. The 2 supervisors sit in the dispatch area and hand pick jobs for their "guys". And if you are on the s**t list, you arent getting any of the good jobs. You have to be in the right group to get the job. THey also work by the hour, not by the job. Get a slow plumber, and youre screwed. My advice- when you find a plumbing company that you like- 911 Plumbing is great.- call the plumbing board to check out their license. Some of these companies let guys work under the master license and they dont have licenses theirselves. YOU NEED TO CHECK THIS OUT. FLOODS HAPPEN AND THATS THE FIRST THING INSURANCE COMPANIES WANT TO KNOW. Who, what, when, where and why. Based on experience, I would never in a million years use John Moore Plumbing, or ARS. I would trust my 8 year old before them. Over priced, bad license status, language barriers, etc. I could write a book. I hope this helps any one out there looking for an HONEST plumber. Have a great day.

I was saddened to see a grouping of plumbers lumped together and categorized as ripoffs. I spent the last few years rehabilitating houses in many areas including Houston and Knoxville. Anytime we found a plumbing or sewer line issue we could not fix ourselselves, we used ARS and have never been disappointed in their pricing or service. I would recommend them without hesitation.
