Ascent Home Mortgages ripped us off! Their company is completely dishonest and corrupt!! Do not deal with this company!! Beware of these people: their loan officer Al De Gonzalez, their assistant Jackie Ritter, and their regional director, Jeff Hussey have been done absolutely NOTHING to complete a loan that was began over 6 weeks ago. They started out being incredibly disorganized, clearly have problems speaking English, clearly cannot spell as all our forms came back filled out incorrectly and with constant mispellings we had to correct. That was only the first red flag.

We were soon to find out that none of this mattered because nothing was being done with our loan to begin with. We kept hanging in there with them, each day another promise that it would happen tomorrow...each day sending one more required piece of paper after another. Two closing date deadlines have come and gone already, and just today, they asked for a copy of our BUSINESS LICENSE!!!

It has become clear that they have only been stringing us along and have mislead us from the very beginning. They have had no intentions of ever getting us a loan. We fear that we are now victims of identity theft as well, as there was clearly no reason for us supplying endless personal information other than for that end.

We are now closing our checking accounts, and reporting Ascent to every agency who will listen, and came here to warn you to STAY AWAY FROM ASCENT!!!

They will not return phone calls, nor call when they say they will. They have been incredibly rude, and just today made the laughable statement that because we were upset with them, they 'weren't going to GIVE us the loan." What a laugh! Their only communication with us was clearly to scam us. And that, they did.

Consequently, we've lost out on a house that was the house of our dreams. We are heartbroken, but we also are bracing ourselves for more repercussions from this horrible company and all their crooked employees!

Beware of Al De XXXXXXXX

An unfortunate reality of our industry

We always apologize for any frustration a Borrower may have when attempting to secure a Mortgage through Ascent Home Loans. It's our goal for all Borrowers to have a positive experience. We employ one of the industries largest support staffs to facilitate this exceptional service goal. As you can imagine it's very expensive to employ this type of support staff, but we believe it's essential to creating a good experience. Many companies avoid this expense in order to remain more profitable. We never felt that was an acceptable option. The most difficult obstacle in achieving this goal with every Borrower is our industry it's self. It's an ever changing environment, and loan guidelines change on almost a weekly basis. With the large number of defaults in our market, guidelines have become more restrictive. It's these restrictions that have effected this Borrower in this case. We will not disclose personal infomation about this Borrower, but simply say.... The Borrower's situation changed during the Loan Process. When Credit Scores, and income, change during the course of Underwriting a Loan Application, additional documentation will be required to support those changes. If that documentation does not satisfy the requirements than the Loan will be denied. We can't control changes that may occur due to decisions made by a Borrower. Additionally Loan Programs can change and a Borrower who previously qualified will suddenly become ineligible for the program they had previously qualified for. This is also out of our control. The best we can do is adapt to the changes and continue forward with another option that accomplishes the same goals. We are a Correspondent Bank and must adhere to ver strict guidelines concerning the handling of private information. We are audited frequently and must past these inspections without infractions. We always do pass, and we take Identity Theft VERY SERIOUSLY. At no point do, or have we ever, allowed any private information to be utilized for anything but the application, processing, and closing of a Mortgage Loan. I won't say anything derogatory about any Borrower. I can tell you the facts are not being represented in the manner in which they occurred. With that said, we do apologize as we have clearly fallen short of our goal to provide a positive experience with this Borrower.

This man is in serious need of help and is not about mortgage finance. He feels that by using a name (not his) he can hide and make false and slanderous accusations. In this instance he makes no mention of his lack of respect for people and rude conduct towards a lady. Quite frankly, the truth always wins and more important god forgives us all.
