I would highly recommend that no one ever gets a Visa Aspire Card. The customer service team is rude and the company thrives on charging ridiculous charges. When I first received the card I had very little credit and was trying to build it. They originally started me off with the card at a low interest rate.

It's been a while so I don't remember the exact amount, all I know is that I was late by only 3 days (Processing time, so they said) and after that point my interest rate went up to 28.7%! And it stayed that way. I stopped using my card far before I reached my limit. And in a few short months of making the minimum payments I was over the limit, due to the finance charges etc.

Before I knew it, I had an over the limit amount of over $600!! And that was just from the finance charges, so of course you get charged $25.00 for being over the limit each month. Forget trying to get any help from the 800 number. The hold time is at least 10 minutes. And when you finally get someone they offer this great program that can help you get caught up. But what they don't tell you is #1:

There is a charge for setting that up. #2: There is another fee if they take it out of your checking account. Which is counted towards a cash advance, that has a higher charge than a regular purchase. And they do this with late fees etc. So you really can never get caught up.

And if you do happen to get behind, expect a minimum of 2 phone calls a day. One will be automated and the other is from a service rep.

Paying off your balance in full is also another pain in the rear end!!! I tried to set up my final payment with (well I won't say his name) the customer service rep. and I didn't not want to have them take it out of my checking account (which they took out 3 payments previously without my authorization, the bank tried to charge me an over the limit fee because I wasn't expecting this...)

Thankfully I have a wonderful fiance who helped me to pay this off after 3 years.

The rep was rude and argued with me for 15 minutes on why he couldn't take this out of my checking account! And proceeded to call me names. This is no joke. I called back after dealing with him and complained...needless to say I was blown off!

Thankfully I have a wonderful fiance who helped me to pay this off after 3 years of dealing with these people!

So Please!!! Don't get this card! I didn't have bad credit before...but I do now!
