Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

My family and I are completely humbled to say that we fell into this company's trap. We trusted and recommended them to so many and we have recently come to the realization we were taken for fools. Flat out lied to on multiple occasions.

If you are looking to get completely attached to a cute, and furry German Shepherd only to go on a lengthy roller coaster of emotions by all means, this is the place to do it and suffer.

We purchased a 6 month old German Shepherd named Remy from them in September of 2013, from the very week we brought her home she had troubles eating. At that point we chalked it up to her adjusting to a new environment and were able to look past the issue and continue to bond with her. After 11 months of caring for our ill furry family member, thousands of dollars in vet bills, hundreds of hours searching forums for solutions, countless e-mails, and calls to the breeder we were still watching our poor girl wither away. The last 3 months we had her were the worst, vomiting, and expelling red jelly like diahrea every day caused her to lose over 20 pounds. As a puppy, we were shocked that she would turn up her nose to her meals, especially since she was active in our family, walking, and training.

After communicating with Michele that our vet had told us there is nothing more they can do for her or us any longer she insisted that we would re-home her with them as they had extensive insurance to get her all the care she needs. Being that she is such a kind spirited, loving animal I was very very hesitant to proceed, but Michele had assured us that she would be cared for and kept as their family pet. After a brief period of thinking over this very, very, very difficult decision I had forced myself to do the unselfish thing which was to give Remy a chance at being healed. I tearfully released Remy to Michele (without refund) as her striking blue eyes welled up with compassion she looked me straight in the eye and promised me that she would keep Remy, and that she would get her all the veterinary care she needed and that she would personally inform me on her status after 5-6 weeks.

My son, other dog, and my pregnant wife then began the grieving period. All very saddened by the whole situation it had been a rough couple of weeks. That is until a woman I used to see at training sessions approached me in the grocery store about how she had heard Remy was given back to the breeders to be sold and found a new home!!!! My jaw and my stomach literally dropped!! She also informed me that the reasoning behind it was pure gossip and completely false! Her attacking my character is the least of my worries, but I was shocked she would stoop so low. I was so heartbroken to find that indeed our sweet Remy girl was posted shamelessly not only on Facebook but on the company's website for sale after 11 days of being released (not nearly enough time to determine her health status). There is nothing more saddening to see that one of your family members is for sale against your will.

After a year of being thankful for the blessing Remy was we were happy to give people recommendations to the company because she is literally the best pet we ever had minus her health issues. I felt I could trust this family owned business, every staff member there had been so kind and helpful (to my face) but now my family and I have come to the realization that they are in our opinion money-driven, heartless breeders who like to double or perhaps triple their money on the creatures they pedal.

After 4 days of outreach our family has been unable to reach a resolution or justice for what has happened. We are deeply saddened that they would pass up opportunities to do the right thing (especially once caught red-handed).

It's evident that we will not be able to do much for Remy at this point but if we can save just one family from deciding to engage with such an unethical and corrupt business, then hopefully we could have saved them the heartache and attachment from a potentially fatally ill pet.

Lastly, I am sorry for such a lengthy post as you can see that I am very passionate about preventing future heartaches for other families. I am open to any questions or further communication if you should want to privately message me. Surely, my family is not the first to experience such a horrendous and emotional struggle with them. We either want our dog back, or our 5,750.00 reimbursement that they promised.

So many lies by this business

This business has proved over and over again they have no problems with stretching the truth or reporting only what is works for them.  Remy's original owner messaged me on Yelp and had the following to say:

"I'm Remys old owner. 12year K9 handler for military and police.

Remy was diagnosed with a genetic pancreatic disorder. I'll post medical records just to shut Michelle up. They're all full of crap!!!" - Will O.

Don't believe me, check out the compliment he sent me in my Yelp profile & message him yourself.  He has the medical records that back up the diagnosis.  Hard facts like that coming from a very experienced K9 handler are hard to deny.  I believe him & the medical records.

Watch this video about Remy  https://vimeo.com/122568292

We hope this video will give insight to those interested in the story of Remy.  There have been many statements and beliefs about this dog.  We put together this video so the public may see the truth for themselves.  It is our greatest intention to uphold the integrity of our company and the fruit of the work we have been so blessed to do.  Thank you for taking the time to watch the video.

God loves each one of us the same and He commands we treat each other with love.

The business owner's response makes absolutely no sense!

I have to agree with Pat, the business owner's response to this makes absolutely no sense!!!!

The owner wants everyone to believe it was all this amicable big mistake made by the customer!  It's all the customer's fault, not mine.  Read the review here and the BBB complaints...none of this sounds amicable.  These are the words of someone tired and running out of ways to get their issues resolved.  The people who knew Remy's owner don't believe Thinschmidt's lies either (see the several reviews on Yelp that mention Remy).

If this happened exactly how the business owner is claiming, why hasn't the author of the orginal post written a response to set the record straight, appologize and/or back up the business owner's response?!?  I'm sure he has received an email every time a response has been posted.  His silence on this speaks volumes to the "authenticity" of the business owner's story...and may also speak to Pat's comment about him being paid for his silence.

My personal experience with this business is they don't want to take responsibility for their actions.  They ignore emails & calls, throw laywers at you to intimdate you.  They do everything in their power not to honor their own contract & California state LAW.  Instead of taking responsibility they want to spin these stories that make them, the business owners, sound like the victims.  Read the owner responses on Yelp, you'll see this victim mentality and the stories spun that aren't quite true...Yelp reviewers got tired of the stories and started posting replies to the business owner's comments.

After my personal experiences dealing with this company, I believe this entire statement posted by Remy's previous owners to be 100% true!

This makes absolutely no sense.  There has been no fabrication of a story, this is how it has been reported by the actual individuals involved.  I'm sorry if you want to pretend this never happend.  I'm sorry you want to pretend you weren't caught RED HANDED by not only the previous owners, but also the community and your own customers (see d**k T's Yelp review from 11/6 quoted below).

If this was settled so amicably why was there a need to filed this Ripoff report, a BBB complaint and post the atttached comment to facebook?

Also there seems to be conflicting stories of exactly why Remy was turned back in.  YOU told me & my wife that she was she was "too much dog & too big" for the family, you told another customer she was "too calm" (see qutoe from d**k T's Yelp review from 11/6), now you're saying she was turned in for not eating enough?  So what is the actual stories and why tell different storie to different people.

If Remy is "perfectly healthy" and you have the right to sell her then why was she pulled from your website & Facebook and is no longer listed for sale?  She has not been relisted for sale since you pulled her from your website & Facebook.  While I am extremely happy to hear that Remy is doing well, the facts still remain the same... you put her back up for sale after PROMISING to keep her as a compound dog (this is seen in the original Ripoff report, the BBB complaint & the Facebook comment pictured).

Quote from YELP review of d**k T of Norco, CA on 11/6:

"I then went on Thinschmidts FB page and saw Several young dogs for sale. One of them was Remy.  I was Shocked when I saw Remy for sale on Thinschmidts FB page.   I met Remy and her owner during Saturday Training classes. I had a friend call and inquire as to why Remy was for sale ($4900). He was told that she was "too calm" for the previous owners and they wanted a more active dog.   What too calm, who wouldn't want a calm dog??  Maybe she was calm because of her reported illness that I've recently read about. Either way the stories are so conflicting "too calm" "too much to handle" and now come to find out she was returned "due to illness"."

Quote from Rob S's YELP update on 11/11 to his original YELP review:

"Most of us who have had horrible experience with Michelle's dogs are bad mouthed by her rebuttals."

feel free to read the entire review at: http://www.yelp.com/biz/thinschmidt-german-shepherds-corona?osq=thinschmidts

There is also rumor that Remy's previous owner was given payment on condition of their removal of their Yelp reviews, showing this & the BBB complaints as resolved & agreement that they would speak no further of this.  If it was so amicable, why quiet them?!

Thinschmidt will probably post a rebuttal full of their own truths.  I could go on quoting others from YELP & other webists accross the internet that have pointed out having issues with Thinschmidt's integrity.  Buyers take your time.  Google them, read all the reviews out there.  People either love them or absolutely HATE them.  Seems to be if you don't have issues you will be happy but if you have any issue, watch out!  The many one star reviews posted online all over the internet over the past 6 years complain about the same thing.  I'll let you, the comsumer, google them and make your own decision

This profile has been removed by the owner William on September 20th 2014

Ripoffreport.com does not allow owners to delete the profile.

Short story:  Owners were very nice and we enjoyed them coming to group class with their son.  We never had any complaints from them other than William was not happy Remy didn't engage in large appetites.  He worried something may be wrong. After almost a year of cleared vet trips we agreed to accept the dog back in our care to give his family some piece of mind.  They signed an agreement to receive another dog of equal value.  Weeks later after testing Remy and resulting in perfect health we decided to find her a new home.  When they heard about this they were quite upset and asked for a full refund instead of an exchange.  We agreed and mailed them a check.  They were very nice to us and even thanked us for being so understanding.  We came to an amicable agreement and made peace with one another.  The online media has fabricated this story to the 10th degree.

Remy continues to do well and has the sweetest temperament and is quite loyal.

My wife and I are getting older and decided taking on a puppy wasn't for us.  Thinschmidts was one of few breeders offering older dogs and fully trained too.  So we took that long drive out there.  Not the easiest of places to find, nearly got lost when we got to that dirt road.  When we arrived, no one was outside.  It took three phone calls and 20min to get someone to come meet us for our appointment.  We were very annoyed at the tardiness of the employee but we made the two plus hour drive so we stayed.

The brunette lady who met us was quite personable and brought several dogs into the room for us to see.  She tried to sell us on some of their upcoming puppies which we thought was weird because we repeated several times we were not interested in taking home a puppy.  After a bit she brought in the available dogs.  We almost immediately fell in love with this dog named Remy.  We were told that Remy's previous owners gave her back because "she was too much dog & too big" for the family.  We decided to spend a night thinking about it.

Our daughter is in college on the east coast so she wasn't with us when we went.  She knew we were going and asked what the dog's name was that we liked so she could look her up.  She googled "Thinschmidts & Remy."  To our shock she came across this story on Ripoff report & on the BBB website  (ripoffreport.com/r/asser…).       We were beside ourselves reading the story. They told us Remy was perfectly healthy, and their contract "guaranteed" if she had issues we could bring her back.  According to the review Thinschmidt promised to keep Remy as an onsite family pet for the remainder of her life...instead she ended back up for sale just days later!  With a severe genetic digestive condition like that, Thinschmidt probably knew Remy wasn't healthy when they sold her to the family writing the review!!!  After reading that and looking at other online reviews we found we decided against doing business with Thinschmidts.  We just didn't feel like we could trust them.

We decided instead to go to a local German Shepherd Rescue and hire a dog trainer if necessary.  When we went to an adoption event we mentioned what brought us to the event and I kid you not the volunteer immediately said:

"God, I wish they would stop breeding.  I cannot tell you how many calls we get from owners trying to turn in Thinschmidt dogs with different health conditions...dysplasia, extreme allergies, digestive issues, etc..."

We were in shock.  My wife convinced me that we needed to write this review so that others would not be taken in by these "breeders" that care more about $$$$ than the dogs they produce.  Find another breeder or find a pup from a local rescue group.  We couldn't be happier with our rescue Sally, she's a doll and she was almost completely trained when we got her from the rescue!  Amazing luck.

STAY AWAY FROM THINSCHMIDT!
